The life of a wizard's apprentice is never not busy. Endless tasks, endless learning... And, in the case of the apprentice of one Wizard Greybeard, endless belittlement, and his master's endless temper. Very soon, however, the Wizard's apprentice will find himself becoming more busy than ever, due to a recent acquisition his master has made. But when being run so ragged, it's safe to say that mistakes are bound to be made - some very, very BIG mistakes, indeed...
Another SFW, vanilla-macro story from me? Funny how inspiration strikes, isn't it?
That said, if I'd originally had my way this story probably would have been completely before Christmas of last year. I started it in June, put it down, picked it back up again, put it down - remembered it a little over a month ago - and then decided to rewrite the entire original version because I wasn't satisfied with the pacing. Without some recent busyness and a little bit of sickness on my part it probably would have been done a few weeks ago, but oh well; it's done now and I'm happy with it. That said; I'm not saying I dislike how my attempts to write shorter stories keep growing into bigger ones - it is both incredibly appropriate and a little funny - but at some point I think I'll have to try holding myself to a word limit, given that I'd like to upload at least once every month, if I'm able.
Just like with the previous story, I've attempted to capture a sort of 'dungeon synth-y' tone with this story; specifically, while doing a lot of my writing I was listening to V by Fief, specifically tracks four and five. Just like with Expanding Her Horizons I'd like to think I captured that sort of light-hearted, fantastical tone.
Contents:
Fantasy setting
Male growth
Dragon growth
'Feral' growth (think of a cartoon-style dragon rather than an anthro one!)
Growth via magic
Destruction
Gigamacro ('feral')
Word count: 15,096
This story's too big to fit in the description, so you'll have to download it to read it! As always, thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated.

The world building it it was rather enjoyable. It felt like a realised place with actual rules as opposed to a once off place for a short story
It's quite amazing!
I found the dragon's growth part too short, compared to how detailed and immersive was the other parts of the story. It felt like I'm reading a full scale novel instead of a short story! But anyway, I enjoyed it nonetheless, fantastic work!

Thank you; I'm glad to hear that! I considered making the growth section a bit longer but I wasn't sure how to extend it while keeping the pacing intact.
😊 Thanks! Was there anything in particular you liked about this one, at all?
I thought you were about to play around with energy/size theft for a minute and was curious how you were going to handle that. Not saying you should, I know that's not always in peoples' wheelhouse of things they like, but you have surprised me before lol
I must say that you've grown as a writer from when you did that Giant Friendly Animals choose your own adventure stories on writing.com
(there's an archive that I can send you of the Giant Friendly Animals if you're interested in seeing your old works and seeing for yourself how far you have come)

😊Thanks! And I already have that archive, though the offer is very much appreciated.
Oh gosh, I really appreciate these parts about the egg sucking up/siphoning in the fire and the magic of the apprentice, especially the care you put into writing them. Your pacing works well to capture some of the subtleties of image and the magical mechanics there. I am glad to have discovered your work. 👌
