Well hey there! You can call me Rdude90 - or Infinity421, depending on what website you know me from. I'm a guy who writes semi-regularly, typically focusing on macro growth - though I've done other things as well. Check out my gallery, you might like what you see!

Titanic Life and General Update
Journals aren’t something I write often (the last one was just over four years ago, now), but recently I’ve had a handful of people asking me questions about the same specific topic; and I figured that it’d be a good idea to write a journal about it, so that if anyone else has any questions I can point them to it.
This specific topic is/was Titanic Life, my Stellaris fanfiction series.
TL;DR: No, it’s not cancelled, but I am aiming to rewrite it, and it’s probably going to take a long while, and I don’t know when there’ll be enough to post on my account.
For a more detailed explanation:
Even though I usually try to keep my real-life self and my FurAffinity account reasonably separate, I’m going to need to expose at least a bit of said real-world self for proper context. Around a couple of months ago I started a course - the first time I’ve ‘properly’ gotten back into education as an adult - and said course has been taking has been taking up a lot of my focus and spare time; as in, I glanced at the date yesterday and suddenly realised that it’d been just over three weeks since I uploaded Lumie’s story, and since then I’ve barely done any writing at all.
In other words, my uploads are probably going to slow down for the next while. I guess it’s a good thing that even though I’d like to upload every month, I’ve never explicitly promised to do so.
This means that it’s probably going to be a good while until we see any more of Titanic Life, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is just because I’ve been focusing on other things, more recently: For the past while I’ve been in a fantasy mood as opposed to a sci-fi mood, and I’ve also wanted to give some of my neglected OCs their time in the spotlight.
The second reason is that for a while now I’ve been planning on rewriting what I already had for Titanic Life. I’m not exactly not proud of Titanic Life, but I was pretty rusty when I started writing it (on account of writing basically nothing for the preceding 2-3-ish years), and I know that I can do better, with my current level of ability - and though I’m not opposed to stories changing as they’re written, the inadvertent pivot from ‘cosy macro/hyper sci-fi slice of life with worldbuilding’ to ‘macro military sci-fi with worldbuilding, and cosiness on the side’ was definitely a rather awkward one. So awkward, in fact, that I spent most of 2022 trying to figure out a way to continue on with the series as it was with the story I had planned - and failing - and eventually deciding to simply start over with a more solid foundation.
If you’re a fan of the current version of Titanic Life, I’m not planning to completely scrap what came before - mostly, it’s minor adjustments to worldbuilding details to have the world be more coherent and make more sense. Some events are going to be fairly different, or occur in different contexts, but for the most part the biggest difference is a greater focus on telling a specific story from the outset, instead of awkwardly shifting into it.
As for the characters, they’ll also be mostly the same - my plans are to vary between three specific viewpoint characters from the current version of Titanic Life - specifically Alex, Mira, and Felix - with occasional viewpoint sections from others. Things will mostly be the same here, as the focus will simply be on giving them the depth I always wanted them to have.
There’s also going to be a greater focus on military sci-fi, at least when it comes to certain characters’ points of view. This won’t be a constant, and it is following the story I wanted to tell from a relatively short way into the current version of Titanic Life, but I figured it was important to mention as well. There’ll still be room for comfy worldbuilding, but I’m aiming for that side of Titanic Life to coexist more comfortably with the more serious/mil-SF side of it - after all, the very origin of the series’ name is the in-game event that gets you macro-sized alien soldiers.
I’m not planning to delete the original version, ever - it’s too important for me to even think about doing so - so there’s no need to worry about anything like that. When it comes to uploading the new version - whenever that happens - I’ll probably just slap an ‘OLD’ in their title, or a ‘REDUX’ in the new version, so it’s clear which is which.
I also wanted to say thank you to those who reached out to me with questions about Titanic Life, recently; both for their patience and for their interest in my writing. I know it’s been stalled for a good while now, and I know it’s probably not the most exciting thing in the world for me to say ‘more probably isn’t coming any time soon, and I’m rewriting a story series that you liked a lot’, but given how long it’s been since the last part in the series I figured it’d be better to let anyone who’s interested know now, rather than later down the line whenever there’s enough of the rewrite finished to actually be worth posting. I also figured it’d be worthwhile to let people know about the likely slowdown for my writing in general, as I don’t have any new stories on hand that can go up anytime soon.
Hopefully the next time I make a journal it’ll be a more exciting one, but they do say that honesty is the best policy.
