Had a bit of time where I focused particularly on portraiture TF sequences. Most of the time, portrait TFs are what I do when I want to get a TF done quick and dirty, focusing on the most recognizable aspect of a given character and slapping it out as fast as possible. It's a good way to get a certain TF mood/crush out without committing too much time to it.
These portraits were a bit different. For one, I did them as four steps instead of the usual three, allowing for some more granularity in the TF process. I also spent much more time working out and considering the expressions and anatomical details of the sequence. Basically, I treated the portrait sequence as a proper piece in of itself, rather than just a means of getting a TF down quick.
Folks often tell me that my expression work is a strength of my art, so I definitely leaned into that here. I think the results are quite strong.

Fun fact- Whisper and Tangle got me pulled into the Sonic comics in the first place!
While I enjoyed the comic, those are definitely what cemented me as a regular reader.
Another fun fact! I based the mouth shapes of step 2 and 3 on panels from the Tangle and Whisper miniseries (issue 2).
Tangle and Whisper should have their own video game. No, their own video game series. Separate from Sonic. You hear me, Sega? You want my money (other than what I already give you for the Total War games)?! Make Tangle and Whisper a video game!
