Throughout her many, perhaps at least a hundred or so, years of experience, Kira had had much time to be able to really hone her skills when it came to magic and the art of spellcasting. Though in all fairness, given her fiendish heritage and the especially powerful blood she had inherited from her demonic kin, the knowledge of most things of particularly arcane nature felt like it seemed to come much easier to her than it might to others. Not that it was all that surprising, though, as there were a good number of beasts and beings in the world that just harbored a natural aptitude and penchant for magic than others. Those who were born with magic capabilities due to their supernatural bloodline had the advantage of being able to learn and eventually master increasingly stronger spells even at a young age, while it could take extensive studying and months upon years of practice to cast even some of the lower level magics by those who weren't so gifted.
While Kira was certainly quite confident in her own magical capabilities and had come to master what could be considered an extensive list of spells, even she would admit that the general scope of what she was actually able to do was... a bit more limited than others might assume. During her practices and trainings when she'd first grown old enough to be able to really get a good grasp on her own abilities, the half-fiend tended to focus her efforts more towards the field of evocation magic specifically, primarily volatile, concentrated elemental spells tailored towards dealing a lot of damage to individual or multiple targets like being able to fling explosive fireballs or conjure up a great thunderstorm to wreak havoc upon the enemy. Very useful in combat, though they didn't exactly have an especially wide-range of applications to other situations outside of that... Thinking back on it now, maybe she'd dedicated herself so strongly to learning those kinds of spells because it felt the most natural to her, being a half-demon. And perhaps another bigger part of it was because she'd still been quite young back then, driven by youthful ambition and a strong desire to want to learn how to use her capabilities to do good for others. As she grew older, though, she'd really started to see how useful it was to have other kinds of spells under her belt, and had added a number of them from other schools like abjuration, enchantment, illusion, and a bit of conjuration as well. Even with magic involved, not everything could be solved by using sheer brute force alone, after all.
With the Halloween season now in full swing this year, Kira, being the ever curious cat that she was, had found herself interested in trying her hand at dabbling into some other kinds of magic that she had never given much thought towards or had done especially extensive studies on. The school of transmutation was one of those particular areas that she had picked up at least a few spells here and there in, but had never truly delved any deeper into it outside of learning how to send secret messages or giving herself and others the ability to breathe underwater and the like. So when she had been skimming over the contents of one of the spellbooks that her good friend Morgana had lent to her to study, the first thing that had initially caught Kira's interest when she'd seen the page for it had been a spell of polymorph. Looking over the description and the listed directions of how to cast it, it hadn't seemed like anything too crazy or complicated. A relatively simple spell that transformed the target into an animal of the caster's choosing, and didn't otherwise affect or alter the subject in any way outside of just changing their shape and size. And since it was magic, the transformation process was all in all generally harmless.
Easy enough, right? All she would need now was a willing volunteer to help her with testing the spell out... And to be honest, it wasn't all that often that Kira would ask for someone else to be a guinea pig of sorts for her, at least not in most cases. Especially since magic in and of itself could be volatile and unpredictable, and even if the caster themselves had extensive experience mistakes still could and did happen... The half-demon wouldn't ever put her friends in deliberate danger just for the sake of doing a magic experiment or two, after all. Though for something like this, it could just be a fun little bit of practice that could have some cool or interesting results come out of it. And it wasn't like the transformation would be all that difficult to undo either, so no harm no foul!
Even so, Kira still felt a twisting knot of nerves in her chest when she reached out to her good friend Amelia to pop the question to her. Not that there was any easy way to be able to ask something like 'hey, wanna help me out with testing a new spell I found?' to someone just in general, regardless of how well you knew them or not. Even so, she knew that Amelia was all too aware of and actually did admire her abilities, vividly remembering the bright-eyed look of amazement and curiosity in the rabbit's eyes when the lynx had put on a little show to demonstrate her fire magic to her for the first time ever since they'd met. Kira knew that she didn't need to be vague or beat around the bush when it came to her, so she tried to keep it fairly straightforward and honest when she asked for her rabbit friend's help.
And much to the cat's surprise and giddy delight, Amelia was more than happy to agree, asking where and when they should meet up with each other to do this. Kira's initial idea was to invite her friend over to her house that night, simple and comfortable enough for the both of them since it had become something of a regular routine for them to spend time at each other's places. However, after giving it a bit of thought, the lynx instead elected that they do it in the woods behind her house. At least so they wouldn't exactly be out in the middle of an unfamiliar area, and having more space would probably be better in case the unexpected might happen somehow. Which, all things considered, probably wasn't super likely with something like a simple polymorph spell... but you never really know when it comes to magic, and it was definitely better to be safe than sorry.
Gathering up everything that she'd need for the spell and donning the adorable witch outfit that she'd gotten for herself the week before to really look the part for it (it WAS Halloween, after all), Kira stopped by the kitchen on the way to the door leading into their backyard where Rosa was in the middle of making dinner to let her know of Amelia's coming and that they'd be out for a bit.
"Aye! Sure thing, babe. Dinner should be about ready by the time y'all come back," Rosa responded with a grin, taking a moment to stir the pot of pasta that sat bubbling on the stove next to a smaller pan full of a rich-looking orange sauce that was simmering gently on low heat. The whole house smelled absolutely delicious as the scent of garlic, butter, Italian spices, and pumpkin hung heavy in the air. "Don't stay out too late now, ya hear?"
"Sure, sure. It'll only be for about ten, maybe fifteen minutes max." Chuckling softly, Kira took the opportunity to slip quickly into the room, sidling up to the wolverine's side and snaking an arm around her waist to pull her into an affectionate side-hug. To which Rosa hardly hesitated to respond in kind as she leaned in to steal a soft, chaste kiss on the lynx's head, lifting up her witch hat a bit to do so and playfully ruffling her hair. "Also, if you don't mind me asking, would it be okay if Amelia stayed the night with us?"
"Heh, y'know ya don't gotta ask me every single time, right? If there was any reason at all that means she couldn't stay over, I'd have said so already." Rosa huffed in fond, mock exasperation, gently straightening Kira's mussed up hair back out before putting the hat back on as it was. "Besides, she's already technically invited to join us for dinner, so she might as well spend the night, yeah? At least if she'd like to."
"Mmmmm, I suppose that's true enough. But still, I really appreciate it, mom~" Kira teased lightly, reaching up to gently tap the tip of Rosa's nose with a finger and quickly skirting away out of reach as the wolverine laughed and lightheartedly attempted to swipe at her in retaliation with no real force behind it. Rosa’s languidly swinging claws only just missing grabbing hold of the loose fabric of one of the silken sleeves that hung around her arms.
"Hmph, yer lucky I'm kinda preoccupied right now, but I'll definitely remember that for later." Cracking a grin and giving a sly wink, Rosa gave a casual wave as she moved to get back to pasta boiling duty. "Go on now, n' let Amelia know she's welcome to stay over if she wants when ya get the chance."
With an affirmative nod and a hasty ‘Will do!’, Kira padded her way towards the living room beyond where the sliding glass door leading out into their backyard was and slipped outside. The cool, crisp autumn breeze greeted her before she closed the door behind her, the sky painted a deep, hazy orange with the even darker purple hues steadily creeping in, the setting sun heralding the arrival of nighttime as the stars and moon were already quite bright and visible in the sky. Stepping down from the small wooden patio leading down to the still pretty green grass of their yard and into the forest that lay further beyond, Kira took a moment to listen out and glance around in case her rabbit friend had already made her way here. She had made sure to notify Amelia that she could just come in through their fence since she’d already let Rosa know about her, though it didn’t look like she’d arrived just yet…
Suddenly, the telltale clicking sound of a metal latch being unhinged followed by the rough noise of wood scraping against wood caught her attention, their backyard gate being opened as Kira could see the exact rabbit woman she’d been waiting for carefully shimmying her way through the gap in between. With how chilly it had been getting outside, Amelia had certainly made extra sure to dress up warmly for the occasion, swathed in a thick blue cable-knit sweater and a pair of cozy white pants to match. With how bundled up she was, Kira certainly looked way underdressed by comparison in her costume, though in all fairness the cold never really bothered her as much as it did others. There were certainly some benefits to essentially being your own heater, for sure.
Ears perked and a bright smile on her face, the lynx wasted absolutely no time in rushing over to greet her good friend as she managed to push her way past the gate, gently taking Amelia’s hand in hers and gesturing for them to walk while they talked.
“Again, thank you so much for helping me out with this, even if it was admittedly a bit… well, short notice. Since, y’know, I only just had the idea come to me earlier today,” Kira chimed, not once letting go of her rabbit friend’s hand as they made their way across the open space of the yard towards the woods beyond. “Honestly, I’m a bit surprised that you agreed… Though are you absolutely sure that you want to?”
“Oh of course I’m sure! I wouldn’t have said yes if I had any doubt in you, after all,” Amelia assured with a small smile, her blue-green eyes bright as they glistened with curiosity. “It always looks so cool and so fascinating whenever I see you using your magic… Honestly, I never would’ve expected to have a chance to be a part of that kind of thing, I don’t exactly know any other mages just in general.”
Kira returned the smile, ears twitching slightly as they crossed the tree line into the woods beyond. The coniferous forest that lay behind their house wasn’t exactly large or extensive, it was actually a small, roughly circular expanse of trees with a few clearings and a picnic area by a pond a bit of a ways in that a nearby well-traveled trail led to. There weren’t really any large animals that lived in this particular area, it was mostly just birds, chipmunks, squirrels, and you might even be able to occasionally spot some deer here and there. Maybe on a few occasions a black bear or two might show up in the area, but that was usually pretty rare. All in all, even during the night, the forest here was quite safe and pretty quiet… And they only had to walk a short way to get to a small clearing among the pines, the warm light spilling out from within their house nearby was still fairly visible between the clusters of branches.
“Although now that we’re here… I’ll admit I’m a bit nervous since, you know, this is my first time ever doing anything like this…” the red-headed rabbit admitted, timidly shuffling her feet a little and rubbing the fabric of her sweater between her fingers as they stopped in the clearing’s center. Her hand still held firmly onto Kira’s as it had for pretty much the entire walk here, not that the lynx had any complaints about it. “But still… If there was anyone at all that I’d put my trust into to do something like this with me, it would definitely be you, Kira.”
And damn… if that little confession didn’t make the half-fiend’s heart melt into a fuzzy puddle in her chest… Of course, Kira knew her limits and absolutely had no intention of pushing Amelia into it if she really was uncomfortable. The absolute last thing that she wanted was to completely shatter that sense of belief and assurance that her good friend was giving to her, after all… But hopefully, gods willing, this little experiment would work out smoothly enough without any hitches, and afterwards they could call it good for the night and head back to the house to try some of that pasta that Rosa was cooking up. Giving the red-headed rabbit’s hand a gentle comforting squeeze, smiling warmly, Kira nodded in affirmation.
“Thanks… It really does mean a lot to me, especially since, well… Honestly I don’t usually do stuff like this either, but I’ll try to make it relatively quick,” she said, not once letting go of Amelia’s hand as she stepped back a little, maneuvering herself around so that they stood facing each other. “Now, I’m gonna warn you… since this is your first time doing something like this, it might feel pretty weird for you. It won’t hurt, it’ll likely just be a very funny kind of sensation… I’m not entirely sure how to describe it; honestly it really tends to differ from person to person. But I promise not to hurt you, okay?”
Bright violet eyes lock with dark blue-greens, Kira bringing her other hand up to rest atop Amelia’s as well as they held onto each other. The rabbit glancing down briefly at their interlocked fingers, whatever anxiousness that still lingered in her starting to ebb away as the half-fiend’s warmth wrapped around her own. With a reignited sense of resolve and confidence, Amelia looked up to meet the lynx’s gaze once more, and nodded affirmatively.
“Alright, here goes…” Taking a deep breath and letting out a long exhale to center herself, Kira let her gaze fall towards their tangled hands between them. Letting the shared heat and the gentle contact between them ground her and Amelia both as she began to move her fingers, lightly stroking around the soft, smooth fur of the rabbit’s palms.
As she did so, the half-fiend inhaled once more, reaching deep, deep, deep down within the core of her being to tap into the wellspring of magical strength that lay dormant within. Conjuring the mana to flow forth from where it pooled within her chest, her heartbeat urging it to cascade all throughout her body, surging with heat and power within her veins as she concentrated it towards the tips of her fingers and claws. All the while, Kira began to mutter under her breath, speaking quietly yet rapidly in a series of seemingly unintelligible words and phrases. A strange, ancient language, utterly foreign, alien, not born of this world… the arcane tongue of her own kin spilling forth from her mouth with all the ease of taking a breath. Sparks of bright violet energy alight and leap forth from the lynx’s claws, catching Amelia’s eyes as they zipped and danced around her, forming shivering, glowing lines, swirls, and symbols in the air like the lights of neon city signs in the dark.
Then, in an instant, a sudden odd sensation begins to take hold in the rabbit’s body, slight and almost unnoticeable at first as it starts in the very tips of her fingers and toes and quickly begins to spread. A feeling that she immediately likens to being very much like that kind of ‘pins and needles’ reaction, like when you try to stretch your legs after spending a long time sitting on top of them. Numb and tingly, but it’s all over her whole body. It definitely feels strange, but it doesn’t hurt at all… more just weirdly prickly than anything. The next thing Amelia notices is how her perspective begins to rapidly shift, feeling like she’s suddenly floating in the air, her feet can’t register the ground underneath her, and Kira seems to be changing too with each passing second… like she’s growing… bigger? It takes a few moments for the realization of what was happening to hit her, Kira wasn’t growing… it was actually Amelia herself who was shrinking!
The full body tingling sensation only lasts for about a few seconds more before it’s gone almost as quickly as it had arrived, and Amelia was left feeling a little lightheaded and dazed from the whole ordeal. Thankfully having something solid underneath to stand on helped her to get her bearings, though as the dizziness began to clear from her eyes and mind, she couldn’t help but notice how much softer and warmer the ground suddenly felt underneath her… But as she turned to glance upwards and was suddenly greeted with the sight of Kira’s face looming overhead, dark fur and hair framed by the wide brim of her hat and much closer than expected, it wasn’t until she felt the familiar touch of fingers as they curled around her back that she realized she was now laying atop the lynx’s palms. Chancing a glance down, Amelia blinked in surprise upon seeing that in place of hands, she now had stubby little feral rabbit paws. Even her feet had been changed too, the paws there noticeably longer and larger, strong hindlegs meant for running and hopping great distances. The area around her neck and chest felt much bulkier yet softer, a lush mane of fur that wrapped around her head and upper body like a big, fleecy scarf.
Well this was… certainly quite peculiar, she had to admit, though all things considered it could’ve been much worse. Although suddenly seeing the world through the perspective of a small bunny was quite disorienting, and maybe just a bit intimidating now that she had a better sense of how absolutely gigantic all of the trees and especially Kira now looked in comparison from this point of view. And the shift of having to stand on four legs instead of two would definitely have to take some getting used to, her little legs felt wobbly like a newborn deer trying to stand for the first time even just lifting her tiny body up for a second or two to adjust herself into a more comfortable position in her friend’s hold. If anything, she was at least glad to have Kira here with her… Suddenly being transformed into a feral animal in the middle of the woods and having to try to learn how to orient and maneuver yourself around on the fly sounded like it could be a potentially terrifying situation to be in.
“Well… That wasn’t so bad, right?” Kira asked with a soft, somewhat nervous laugh, pointedly keeping her voice low since Amelia’s ears were likely quite sensitive in this form. To which the newly transformed rabbit couldn’t help but feel a swell of appreciation rise up within her chest. “I figured I’d just keep it sweet and simple with the transformation, less room for things to potentially go wrong than trying to make it more complicated. I will say, though… you were pretty cute before, but you definitely look even more adorable as a little bunny~"
The little bunny’s ears twitched, feeling a touch warmer around the face as she preened from the praise and compliments. Her short tail flicked back and forth as if mimicking a happy dog’s wagging tail, and as Kira lifted a finger up to gently stroke in between her ears… oh god, it felt absolutely heavenly… As if acting on instinct alone, Amelia lifted her head up a bit more, nuzzling it against the lynx’s featherlight touch, following along with it as it moved to trail further down her neck.
Kira, on the other hand, was maybe enjoying this a bit more than she’d meant to, unable to help but want to indulge in how utterly soft and cute rabbit-Amelia was as she held her, using one hand to keep her stable and steady while using the other to pet her. Her fur was so warm and fluffy, like holding a handful of freshly picked cotton… and as she moved to rub along her cheeks and comb her claws through the thick mane around her neck, that seemed to be the perfect spot for Amelia as she closed her eyes and seemed to turn into a boneless puddle right then and there, melting into Kira’s palm, little paws dangling slightly off the sides as she relaxed completely. The lynx’s ears perked a little upon hearing the slight yet audible breathy noises, almost like chirping… Oh god, was she making those little clucking noises that rabbits do when they’re happy? Holy shit that’s so damn cute…
Although now that she had a better view with rabbit-Amelia all sprawled out in her hand, Kira couldn’t help but notice something else… something else that was most certainly not meant to be there.
“Oh? Well that’s… that’s weird… I don’t think that was something that was meant to happen here…” Upon hearing the slight concern in Kira’s tone, Amelia stirred to attention, glancing up curiously towards her lynx mage friend. And as the cat’s fingers moved to touch along her backside, the rabbit’s eyes immediately went wide upon feeling them suddenly brush up against something… something that most definitely hadn’t been there before.
In an instant, Amelia became all too aware of a new sensation that was now resting there between her shoulders… two of them, to be more precise. Yet the strangest thing about it was that they didn’t even seem all that foreign in this body, almost as if they had been a part of her all her life and not just something that had spontaneously sprouted and taken root there. Was that why she hadn’t noticed or even felt them before up until now? And as she could sense Kira gently taking hold of one, carefully lifting it up to show off its full length… she realized exactly what it was that was different now.
Wings… Feathery, bird-like wings… Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, she had grown herself a pair of wings.
Aside from how strange and ridiculous it sounded that she now had wings that were absolutely, certainly, most definitely not there before, it just brought up even more questions on how this could have happened. Of course it could probably just be written off simply as something to do with the mysterious inner workings of magic… even so, trying to grasp for some straw of logic to explain the how, the why of it all was proving to be fleetingly scarce. She might just give herself a headache trying to think any harder on it than she needed to, and as she turned her curious, confused eyes towards her magic-casting friend it seemed that Kira had no more of a reasonable explanation than she did as she looked similarly baffled by this sudden twist.
“Honestly, your guess is as good as mine, Amelia… There can be a number of reasons for why something like this could happen, but… to be completely honest, I don’t exactly have a good enough understanding of this particular kind of magic to really give a solid answer. And even if I did know more about it, there’s still so many uncertainties that pinpointing an exact cause would be like finding a needle in a haystack.” Kira explained as best she could, furrowing her brow as she admitted her own lack of deeper knowledge. Transmutation magic wasn’t her strong suit, after all. Even so, the spell seemed to have worked well enough just as she’d hoped, despite this rather unexpected extraneous outcome. “For all I know, maybe I went just a bit overboard with how much juice I put into the spell itself, they could also just be a temporary addition and will just harmlessly vanish after I dispel the magic. Although, all things considered, suddenly getting a new pair of wings is definitely far from the worst that could’ve happened from this, yeah?”
Giving a soft little giggle, Kira took the opportunity to lightly stroke along the feathers of the wing clutched between her fingers, admiring their velvety smoothness as Amelia seemed to grow increasingly flustered from the attention. “Besides, I think they look quite lovely on you, my dear~”
Flashing a fond little smile, the lynx carefully brought the little bunny up closer to her, gently pressing little rabbit-Amelia against her chest and giving her plenty of room to snuggle up against her much larger friend. Again, maybe Kira was enjoying this just a bit too much… but thinking more on it, she might not get another opportunity to do anything quite like it again, or at the very least likely not anytime soon. Perhaps she shouldn’t be entertaining the idea of being just a little selfish and keeping Amelia like this for a little longer, though of course she would release her hold on the spell and revert her friend back to normal, soon enough at least… She chuckled softly upon feeling the light poke of a little bunny paw against her, Amelia glancing up at her with what could be the rough equivalent of a quizzical look as best as her feral face could communicate it as if asking ‘You are going to change me back, right?’
“Heh, of course, of course I’ll turn you back, dear… I just… I hope this isn’t too much to ask, but would you mind if I keep you like this for at least a minute more? Maybe two…?”
Keeping true to her word, a couple minutes later after taking the chance to affectionately smother her friend with gentle pets, scratches, and even the occasional kiss to the top of her fluffy little head, Kira finally released her concentration on the polymorphing spell and returned Amelia back to normal. Well... almost at least, as it seemed the rabbit's new wings stayed with her even without the influence of the lynx's magic that had caused them to appear in the first place, apparently having established themselves a new, permanent part of her. Upon realizing what had happened, Amelia spent the better part of the next few minutes consoling Kira as the half-demon apologized profusely over and over, feeling madly embarrassed for even such a minor incident happening at all in the first place. Though she seemed to calm down quickly enough at the reassurance that Amelia's new wings weren't the worst thing that could've happened out of this, and that she actually liked them quite a lot. Of course, getting used to them being a part of her from here on would be a whole other beast entirely to tackle, and the rabbit would most likely have to have some adjustments made to her clothes to be able to accommodate for these new additions. Still, she found the idea of having them, maybe even for the rest of her life as it stood, wasn't actually a half bad deal all things considered. And perhaps one of these days... she could find a way to properly express her thanks to her lynx friend for bestowing this kind of blessing upon her, even if it had been completely unintentional. Truly a happy accident in every sense, you could say...
Whew... Honestly, I really should've posted this up much earlier, and I had intended to do so on the day of Halloween. But well... stuff came up, and there's been a lot going on as of lately that took up a lot of my time and energy between business at work picking up and other life-related things. Still, guess it's better late than never even if the Halloween season has been over for at least a few weeks now, and I didn't want to wait too long before the Christmas season really started ramping up with November already being more than halfway over and December fast-approaching on the horizon! For all of y'all who did celebrate Halloween this year, I hope it was a nice time for all of you and that you got to enjoy some delicious treats as well! And for all of y'all who aren't exactly huge on it or just don't celebrate it at all if you live in a country where it's not really a thing, I hope you all had a very lovely and pleasant day regardless! And I hope that you all will have an overall nice time as well this holiday season! Here's a piece that I got as a very wonderful Halloween-themed gift in honor of my birthday last month from a very good friend of mine and a super talented artist, Amelia_mi, featuring my dear half-demon lynx lady Kira demonstrating and dabbling a bit more in her magical capabilities by testing out a new polymorphing spell to get into the spirit of Halloween! And this time, she has the help of her good rabbit friend Amelia to assist her with this little experiment, with some very... interesting and unexpected results as it seems her magic had something of an unintended side effect! Not that Amelia seems to mind it too much at all, haha~ In fact, Amelia_mi actually came up with this very cool and interesting idea as something of a way to introduce a future redesign of her rabbit 'sona with her new wings included as well, so definitely do keep an eye out for that as well whenever she ends up posting that! Hehe~ ^^
This one is probably the longest short story that I've written for quite a while now... so I'm probably a bit rusty due to not having had many opportunities to do more longer-form stories like this as of late. Sorry if this one might not be quite as 'up to par' as some of my previous writings, but I do hope that it will still at least be a somewhat enjoyable read for all of you who like to read up on these! I actually do have quite a few other art pieces that I've been meaning to post that feature both Kira and Amelia together and quite a few stories to write to really establish them and their friendship together, and hopefully I can get to writing those up sometime soon in the near future as well!
That all aside, gosh I really just love how absolutely gorgeous and amazing this piece turned out!! Amelia has definitely been experimenting around with new techniques and making improvements to her art style within these past months, and it definitely shows! Kira looks so incredibly beautiful here, the look of the fur, the short kind of hair style that Amelia tends to draw her with, and good lord... those wings!! Amelia truly outdid herself with how stunning those feathery wings turned out, how soft and sleek all of the individual feathers look, and even the way that the dark greys transition and blend in with the red at the tips is just so fantastic and super well done! And the amount of detailing and textures that went into this are simply astounding to see... I especially just adore the feathering around the edges of Kira's leotard-like outfit to hint at their softness, the smooth, silky, translucent look of the sleeves wrapping around and hanging off of her arms, the glitter and shine of the strings of rhinestones around her leg and the bright purple gem decorations on her witches' hat, as well as the glow of the magical energy and the way it seems to form little patterns in the air as it springs from her fingertips, just so beautiful all around! And of course as pretty as Kira looks, Amelia herself is so incredibly adorable as a little bunny as well with all of the fluff around her neck, her little stripes and heart-shaped patterns, and especially her new feathery wings too! The soft shading and the rendering work is just so spot on, the primarily lineless style and the use of color blending and layering is just such a good choice to make everything look super smooth! And of course the background really ties it all together so nicely as well with the dark silhouetted forest and the sunset sky to give it a sort of spooky, Halloween night kind of feel, perfect for the season! All in all, it's definitely clear that a lot of effort went into every part of this piece, and I really couldn't be more pleased with receiving something truly as amazing as this as a gift~ <3333
There's also a NSFW version of this piece as well that I will post up sometime later when I have the time for it! Or you can check it out over on Amelia's page and leave some faves for her too while you're at it! ^^
Thank you so very much once again to the super lovely, sweet, kind, great, glorious, and magnificent artist Amelia_mi for such an awesome and super lovely gift!! This was really quite an unexpected surprise for me as I don't really expect for others to get gifts for me for my birthday or for Christmas or what have you, and I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to make my birthday seem like a big deal or anything like that. It's really just another day for me for the most part, but even so, that people still want to do something special for me even though they really don't need to is something that I'll always be incredibly grateful and appreciative of! And for you, Amelia, I'm truly just so pleased beyond words that you'd do something like this for me in honor of my birthday and for the Halloween season as well! Though to be honest, the fact that I was able to have the opportunity to meet such an awesome and amazing person like you, to get to know and learn more about you over these past months that we've communicated with each other, and to be able to call you something of a good friend to me is really the best kind of gift that you could ever give me! You truly are a supremely talented artist and someone who absolutely deserves all of the love, support, and recognition that you get, and you are a very kind, caring, and supportive friend as well... I hope that we can continue to stay in touch, talk about our lives, share stories, and just catch up on what's been going on with each other, and I really can't thank you enough just for everything that you've done for me... I wish you all the best with everything that you hope to be able to accomplish with your artistic career and with your life in general, and I'm happy to be able to support you and your beautiful artworks as well however I can! I always look forward to seeing what you'll come up with next and what you have in store whenever you can post up new stuff, and definitely do keep up the fantastic work as well~ <3333
And hey, if you're not doing so already, then definitely hop on over to Amelia_mi's page, dropping her a watch, leaving some faves on the original post of this piece as well as any of her other works in her gallery that catch your interest, and if you especially enjoy what she does and what she has to offer then please do consider shooting her a commission! She is still a pretty small artist who is looking to grow her follower base and is always more than happy to take in new clients, and she would be very pleased that there are more people who are interested in her art as well! She offers a range of different kinds of commissions for quite reasonable and not-super-expensive prices, from fully-rendered with complex details and shadows to simpler renders with lighter shading work, and more recently chibis as well! And if YCHs are more what you're interested in, she has a pretty good variety of different ideas to choose from depending on what you might be looking for and are priced quite nicely as well! A lot of what she has for offer is NSFW as a fair warning, but you can choose to have it be more SFW as well for a small additional fee if that's what you'd like instead! Amelia is always doing her best to try to improve her art however she can, and she would surely be glad to draw something for you if you'd like to reach out to her for a commission!
And regardless of what it is you're looking for and the price that you pay for it, you can be sure that you'll be getting some super nice art out of it in exchange! And even if you're not able to afford paying for any commissions or just aren't in the market for getting an art for yourself, I still want to highly encourage you all to give this awesome artist the attention and support that she deserves by at least watching her, leaving some faves on her works, and helping to spread the word around with others who might be interested in her and what she does!
Links to Amelia_mi's official website with all of her commission info and prices as well as her open YCHs will be provided below, as per usual! Please consider checking them out and shooting her a Note or a message to her on Discord or Telegram if you're interested in ordering something from her! And if you're not able to afford any art or just don't want to get anything for yourself, then at least sharing her stuff around with your friends, acquaintances, followers, and others who might be interested would be greatly appreciated!

Kira looks amazing!! Amelia as well, an adorable little winged bun-bun. I love the colors on Amelia, and the toe-beans, squishy toe-beans. She so fluffy!! Red and white have always gone well together, with the green/turquoise eye color. Kira's outfit is so good, the color contrast to her fur really pops, purple/black/white always go good together! The crystals are lovely as well. A leotard with a shawl and hat, never thought of that combination. Work it Kira! camera flashes Your a star among the twilight!
Oh absolutely on both accounts!! Amelia is very adorable as a little winged bunny, and haha, of course! Gotta love those toe beans! Of course this is probably a one-off kind of thing after that unintentional magical mishap, so of course Kira has to fawn over bunny Amelia as much as she can while it lasts, haha~ Unless maybe she can find more folks who'd like to volunteer for the next time she tries experimenting around with polymorphing magic... Who knows? The outfit is definitely a very interesting but beautiful choice! I'm actually quite a fan of the big silky sleeves that hang off the arms, always really liked that kind of aesthetic! The leotard with the big witch hat and the garterbelt sort of decoration is definitely a cool choice, never would've envisioned an outfit like this on Kira but it does fit her quite well, especially with the colors! Though I suppose it could be debated that anything could look good on her, as they say, black goes with everything! And possibly grey as well, at least from a subjective standpoint, haha~ 😁
Thank you so very much for the fave and for your lovely comment as well, Sno! Always greatly appreciate the support and hearing from ya too whenever you have the time to leave a few words, and of course glad to see more of the newer works you've been getting as of lately as well as the stories you write up for them too! They're always a pleasure to read, and I look forward to seeing more whenever you can share them! Hope you've been doing well on your end as of lately, and I hope that you'll have a very lovely and wonderful holiday season as well~ 💜💜💜💜

I wonder who else could volunteer... (snaps) I know could always wrangle Fenrir and Reiner in, after a certain incident, especially with the comment, floor and counter needing to be fixed. Could be there 'community service'.
Of course, how could I not support a friend. But ya know we are both furs who rather observe, who can't help but say something from time to time. Ahh shucks, my stories are nothing compared to the weaver of webs you can spin. I also have a back log as you do, I'm just waiting for the right inspiration to hit, Love having a story behind every piece. Seeing how creative I can push myself. I can't wait for what you have. I've been stumbling across your little bread crumbs, I know kinda whats coming, but no idea of what stories await. So I hold my breath until the next one.
Also the AU train has left the station, again. 💜

Hehe, thank you very much!! I'm sure Kira would be very pleased to hear it, and honestly Amelia as a little winged bunny is probably my favorite part of this piece, personally! She's certainly quite an adorable and beautiful rabbit, and I think how she looks here only magnifies her cuteness by a hundredfold, haha~ And I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed the story too! I certainly tried to convey the emotions and give a good sense that the two of them are close friends, and of course Kira absolutely wouldn't pass up the opportunity to snuggle and fawn over how cute Amelia looks as a little bunny! After all, who knows if she'd ever have the opportunity to do something like this again? Amelia certainly surprised me with such a gorgeous piece like this as a gift, and it was quite a pleasant surprise indeed even though she didn't have to! Still, I always appreciate the thoughtfulness and the effort that goes into making such lovely artworks like this, for sure~ 😊

Awwwww, well thank you very much!! Sorry again that it's taken me quite some time to get to responding back to all of your comments, but I do appreciate them a lot all the same! Amelia_mi absolutely did such an amazing job with this, I definitely did not expect that she'd make something so incredible like this as a birthday gift for me.... Not that she really needed to, but I'm super grateful to her nonetheless! All of the art that she does is just wonderful, and she absolutely deserves a lot more attention and support for her work~ 😊
