This illustration was a commission from KaspianNorth of their character Kaspian! He is seen here welcoming you inside for a nice hot chocolate by the fire. I adored painting all the details in this image, from his horns, the stone fireplace, Christmas lights and the snow built up on the windowsill.
Thank you for commissioning me!

Delightful... :)
Your love and enjoyment in creating this one really comes through very clearly; the sheer joy in this practically jumps off my screen! Simply delightful... *instant fav*

Thank you for sharing this vision of serenity, contentment and warmth in the middle of cold darkness!
So much hot, cozy light that illuminates so many things differently!
Love the abundant, finely crafted detail: the hearth interior, the chimney stonework, the candles,
the stoking patterns, the wooden beam and floor, the garlands, the wreath, the trees, the presents, the tinsel...
And the focus character is a perfect canvas for all the warm light to play with, with such delightful fabric textures!
The hoof fingers, the dynamic posture and the half-surprised, half-elated expression, and those eye are wondrous!
It is certainly a household many would dream of entering, but it would likely be an exclusive tender evening for two.
Do you get snowiness in your parts? Did it feel weird to draw this while your summer is about start?
Does it feel weird in general to have every newsfeed blast that Northern temperate fireplace aesthetics around this time?

I am glad you enjoy it! I had a lot of fun with the lighting and textures in this one, adding the interior details was really rewarding.
I don't get snow at all! Actually the part of Australia I live in is sub-tropical. I have always loved drawing and painting snow, the reflective qualities are something I love to play with. We don't get anywhere near cold enough for actual frost so it was rather bizarre painting the scene during the start of our wet/rainy/monsoon season. The opposing aesthetics are something we get used to, a lot of our media is from the USA or the UK. When I lived in Victoria we did get snow quite often, but it was only ever mushy and not at all like the thick blankets other places get to experience. The climate is the one downside to this beautiful part of Australia, and the unholy levels of humidity.

Thank you for providing these illuminating experiences!
The world media is so painfully North-focused,
and it would be wonderful if more people realized
the breathtaking unique biomes of our planet!
Victoria is the Southernmost part of the continent,
sort of like Cape Peninsula and Tierra del Fuego?
I'm glad to know you've experienced snow, even in that slushy form!
Wishing to you that you will get to travel to remote parts of the world,
and have those new experiences give you inspiration, enlightenment and joy!
In the meantime, your imagination and vicarious exploration is quite enough
for you to be able to depict those oversees phenomena!

I can’t begin to say how much joy this painting brings to my heart. Thank you so very much for this~<3
I am so glad you love it! You're very welcome, it was a pleasure to work with you!
This is so beautiful! I love the lighting and the detail you put into conveying the texture of the sweater.
Thank you! I took a risk with the lighting but ultimately really enjoy how the vibe came out!
To you as well! Creating themed art hasn't been something I have done in the past but it brought me much joy to contribute to the holiday season this year!
