THE BRIGHTEST NIGHT OF THE CANDLES:
"...This was a very lovely idea, Twilight," Princess Celestia commented as she looked down a residential road within the Equestrian capitol city of Canterlot. "Using the surplus bits we had in our annual budget to sponsor the cultural celebrations of other creature's nations will certainly help every pony be more open to the world beyond our nation's boundaries."
Twilight, who was the Sun Princess' chosen pupil to mentor over the course of her educational journey, could not help but smile wide upon being given such praise.
"Thank you, Princess," she replied merrily. "However, if I may be honest, this was more of a collaboration than the sole result of my efforts alone."
The white-coated Alicorn Princess nodded her head as she started to trot further down the artificially illuminated, sunset sky.
"It would appear that the job shadowing opportunity you had with Sweetie Dash within the ministry has opened you up to more than you had thought it would?" she asked with a knowing smile.
"It did!" the purple-coated Unicorn replied. "It was through my research of Sweetie Dash's responsibilities as the Planning & Events Minister that I became aware of an untapped source of building relations with other nations to learn even more about the other creatures of our world while building a positive opinion towards international relations."
Celestia let out allowed herself to laugh at how her star pupil had phrased her response.
"It also would appear that Sweetie Dash and the other ministers rubbed off on you through their poetic presentations of how they present those projects they are most passionate about," she stated before coming to a stop near the entrance of one of Canterlot's many recreational parks that was at the very end of the residential street. "It would also seem our representatives of The Dragon Lands are hard at work at sharing the wonder of this cultural event with every pony, too."

"Breathing fire is easy, Spike!" stated Goldigony after using her fire breath to light a candle-like object that rested along a path in which lead towards a pond within the park. "You just bring in as much air as you can, pretend like you are having a hard time going potty, and blow!"

The purple-scaled dragon watched his blue-eyed friend perform all the steps that she had just described to bring light to another of the decorative fixtures.
"Now you do it," stated Goldigony as she sat an unlit candle in front of her emerald-eyed roommate.
"I don't know," worried Spike as he tugged nervously upon the waistband of the diaper he was wearing. "What if I end up having an accident inside my diapers instead of breathing out fire?"
The green-scaled dragoness with the magenta-colored tummy and ear fins smiled wide while staring straight into her friend's eyes.
"Then you just wind up with a storm cloud sticker on your potty chart," she replied while posing herself in a way that Spike could easily see how her diaper was free of any fire breathing accidents.
Spike blushed while letting out a nervous laugh.
"Come on!" she roared. "Didn't we learn in class that having accidents is a normal part of the learning process? That making mistakes is a normal part of learning and growing up to be the best you that you can be?"
Spike's lime-green ear fins drooped as he felt a lump form in his throat.
"You...," he struggled to say. "You're right, Goldy."
Goldigony felt a rush of adrenaline upon being acknowledged by Spike, the teacher's pet who could do no wrong, for being the one who was 'right'.
"That's the spirit!" she cheered loud enough for any pony in the neighborhood to hear. "Now let’s see you light that candle, Spikey-Wikey!"

A jet of shimmering-green dragon fire shot out from Spike's mouth that brought a steady and strong flame to form upon the candle's wick.
"I did it...," he said with disbelief as he watched the flame flicker upon the candle. "I DID IT!"
Goldigony smirked as Spike was unaware that he had also made quite the audible fart while lighting the candle.
"That's the spirit!" she congratulated while giving her purple-scaled friend a firm pat on the back. "Now how about we go finish lighting all these candles for the festival?"
Spike, beaming with pride in his accomplishment, nodded with agreement before waddling to help his dragon friend to light the remaining candles. All the while unaware of how, unlike Goldigony on this evening of celebration, he'd soon be finding himself in need of a fresh diaper. However, as Goldigony had recalled from class and he would hear from Twilight, it is only through making mistakes that we can often achieve our greatest accomplishments.

Awwww really lovely story Yosh. Thank you so much for including Sweetie Dash's context here. I have never talked about her life too much because I feel everything around her is simply too silly *blushes* I liked how you involved Twilight too. I have also included Twilight as an important part of Sweetie Dash's job in my non-written stories.
I also liked so much the scene of the two dragons turning on the candles with their fire. "Then you just wind up with a storm cloud sticker on your potty chart," I simply loved this quote. She is literally saying "Which are the true consequences of failing? Just messing up the diaper? The go ahead, no real risks involved". I like it too much because I think we frequently simply avoid doing what we want because we fear some tiny consequences may occur, and we lose the opportunity just for that. Goldigony is really clear here saying that the benefits are a lot higher than risks so there is no reason to give up. Amazing life lesson without a doubt.
Oh, you also made the mistake of the belly color here hehe. Don't worry, I hope you can edit it without too much complication, but it really does not affect how amazing and great the story is. Nice job as always my dear soft padded friend.

I am glad you enjoyed this story. I am also glad you let me know how it needs a little update to make certain that Goldigony can look accurate to how you show her in your artwork.

I like how you brought up the life lesson of how being afraid of even the smallest of negative consequences can cause someone to not do something they can and/or want to. In this story, I thought I properly remembered Goldigony's colors. I even had a document open where I had taken notes. However, even with the notes and my memory, I still felt I may have gotten a detail, or two, inaccurate.
Going with the lesson in the story, 'The Fear of Failure' is a worry that almost everyone has. What is interesting, based on my experiences in life, is how this fear is, for the most part, created by family, friends, and social norms. If the people who have the greatest amount of impact on our daily lives convince us we can, or cannot, do something, we are going to enter into our adult lives filled with concern about our level of ability to function in society. There is also the fear that results for looking, behaving, and/or enjoying things that family, friends, and social norms force us to be. For me, I turned 18 of years of age, started college / university, and was convinced that I would never be appreciated for who I was as an individual. This was made worse by my father not liking the type of stories I wrote. He also had this plan for me that, after I graduated from university, caused me a lot of sadness over how he insisted I was not trying hard enough to fulfill.
Back to the story, along with what I know of Spike and of Goldigony, I can see how perfect these two are when they are together. Spike may feel intimidated by Goldigony, but she does provide him a reason to try something that he may not have otherwise attempted to do. Spike, on the other hoof, helps Goldigony to see how taking time to think about her choices and how she behaves around other creatures is just as important as doing your best at anything and everything she wants to do.

I liked being able to find a way to bring Sweetie Dash and her family into the story. Doing so, to me, provided readers more depth to the MLP: FiM AU that you have kindly allowed me to write stories about. (It also could get some people who may have overlooked Sweetie Dash and her family to go back and give them all a second look.).

Stay swaddled, pampered, and adorable, Sweetie! I look forward to more adventures in the creative arts soon.
