I've been sitting on this story for a long, long time. Am hoping to have it all voice acted out later on when I'm able and the story is done. This will be part 3!~

This part briefly explores Namaeo's recovery from a close encounter with human aircraft, as well as having him meet a human Officer, Rick. Who works with the Rynar at Rock Hill, in the hopes of sparing human lives via cooperation. But R-Shack... Who is that?~
Tyrant's Reign is about a Rynar soldier, Private Namaeo, who is pulled from guard duty aboard a space station and thrust into a war. Forced to miss his daughters hatch day. He was sectioned with Battlemaster Jailthar, at Rock Hill, on the edge between North and South Carolina. Been hinting it for a time now, but this story, alongside Blue On Blue, Hearts And Minds, and Of Mice And Men, are all interconnected :3
None of this would be possible without Hetzer
I felt bad for constantly bugging him with questions, but I hope it was worth it!~

Namaeo's mind was spinning as he marched through the tiny town. His visor blinked; the waypoint he was following had shifted when he got closer. An array of large boxes and electronic devices littered semi-neatly on the grass of a small park.
Amidst all the items was a tiny human fiddling with a radio. He murmured into it, then checked a box before grumbling. The human ignored Namaeo as he approached, but the Rynar knew this was a ruse. Even if he tried to be gentle, Namaeo's boots made loud thunks wherever he walked.
"Officer Rick Rider?"
Namaeo spoke out, his hisses and growls turning to human words from his armor speakers. The human jumped slightly, glancing up before nodding.
"Oh, yes, sir. Sorry, didn't expect you to have a translator."
Namaeo blinked; the human wasn't wrong for thinking as such. Most Rynar troops, other than officers or Battlemaster's, didn't boast translators for one reason or another. Namaeo shifted and rested his rifle on his shoulder.
"Private Namaeo was given a translator to help solidify Rynar-Human relations. Battlemaster Jailthar Bidcov's direct orders."
The human nodded, clearly off-put by the Rynar's military style. He'd return to work, trying to hide his concern from the giant lizard.
"Right! Right... Jailthar and I agreed, I help you all round up any folks out there I can find. And ya'll don't go hurting anyone... You uhh, mind if I finish this?"
Namaeo's orange eyes flickered over Rick's odd devices as they shared a moment of silence.
Jailthar's orders were to ease humans if possible, as he wanted them to be on the Rynar's side willingly. Though Namaeo knew this was only a front, and if need be, they would be authorized to force humans' allegiance. But his attention locked to the device as static played out. Rick assumed the silence was permission to continue.
"Breaker, breaker, Zeta-Mobile to HUB, do you copy, over."
Rick practically yanked the radio device off before speaking into it.
"This is HUB, reading you loud and clear, Zeta-Mobile, over."
Namaeo tilted his head only to recall part of Jailthar's plan. With Charlotte destroyed, a swarm of caravans had headed West toward UTO territory. However, the humans here did not know of the Union's troops. Jailthar planned a clever ploy to have Rick recall whatever transports he could contact.
"Zeta-Mobile, god damn, it's good to hear another voice out here! We've found a farm family of five that should have enough supplies to go further inland. The coast is entirely controlled by those lizard bastards, over."
Namaeo shifted, and Rick turned their eyes up as if to silently apologize. Namaeo hadn't taken offense but found it almost funny. Smiling slightly as the officer replied.
"This is HUB; that's a negative. Inland is worse; more lizard troops have been spotted. I'm stationed at Rock Hill with a group of survivors. It's clear here: are you able to change route? Over."
Rick waited a moment, but finally, a response came through.
"This is Zeta-Mobile. There is no better place to go. I will talk it over with the rest... Lizards moving again. We're heading out soon, over."
The human was ecstatic and leaned on a box as he replied.
"HUB; copy that. Do you have a visual? Over."
Namaeo squatted lower, causing the human to flinch as a response came. Unsure if he should speak, Namaeo would watch Rick. While many Rynar held prejudice against humans, Namaeo was asked by Jailthar to learn about them. If the Rynar were to rule, they had to know what they were ruling.
"This is Zeta-Mobile; we heard Rock Hill was lost. Caravan moving North. I will try to talk to the others; hopefully, I can talk them into it before we move out."
Rick's dedication shocked Namaeo, but the human spoke again before the Rynar could ask a question.
"This is HUB, all units, be advised, Alien Bn is moving north, sixteen hostiles. Full-quieting is required soon. Over."
Namaeo flashed a smile, knowing this was a complete lie. Any troops going North would be targeted by human aircraft. Namaeo felt his armor, turning his head to look at his right arm. While his chestplate had been replaced, his right arm still held tiny bullet holes from the metal birds. A grim reminder of just a day or two before.
Suddenly, a new voice came over the radio, laced with extreme static.
"Break-ak. HUB, this is R-Shack, lone sur- . . . -tern AAF. -. . . - a rubber duck? O-."
Rick tilted his head to Namaeo before returning the microphone to his face.
"R-shack, this is HUB. Roger that R-Shack, picket-fence is pretty hard. Over."
"HUB,- . . - R-Shack. Cop-. . .-er."
"HUB, this is Zeta-Mobile, On mobile, requiring an unkey as we move, Over and out."
Rick grumbled as he thumped the box but soon keyed up.
"This is HUB, copy Zeta-Mobile, HUB net in seven hours, over and out."
"R-Shack, this is HUB. One survivor? Over."
"HUB, this - . . -. Roger, just me- . . . -AAF; aliens roughed us up good. Over."
"R-Shack, this is HUB. Copy that. What is your Location? Over."
"HUB, This is R-Shack; my location is east from 18. Ranger Shack just off Barret Road. Over."
Rick was surprised at the clarity of the message, unsure how the feed suddenly turned so clear.
"R-Shack, this is HUB. Do you have an HT? Over."
"HUB, this is R-Shack. Negative HUB, working off a boat anchor here. Over."
"R-Shack, this is HUB. Copy R-Shack, will relay to Zeta-Mobile during net hours, break. Giving course now, R-Shack, you will meet with Zeta-Mobile and then travel north towards HUB. Over."
"Hub, this is R-Shack. Copy, will meet with Zeta-Mobile on Charley Road tomorrow."
"R-Shack, this is HUB. Stay safe out there; word on the waves says new aliens are being seen. Dogs, cats, hell, and even some giant birds. Over and out."
As R-Shack keyed out, Rick leaned back and keyed in again.
"Zeta-Mobile, this is HUB. You heard him, military. Can you wait on Charley Road? Over."
There was a long pause, leaving Rick to think they were already unkeyed. But soon, a response would come.
"HUB, this is Zeta-Mobile. We'll have to stop anyways, families are freaking out, and one of our trucks is having issues. We'll keep locked and loaded for any lizards. God-speed HUB. Over."
Namaeo shifted, perking up at the mention of weapons. Rick quickly keyed back, eyeing the Rynar with uncertainty.
"Zeta-Mobile, this is HUB. What sort of weapons? The heavy ordinance is all that works. Over."
A response came back with a long sigh.
"HUB, this is Zeta-Mobile. We only have pea shooters. But it'd be enough to piss off any lizard long enough.- Hey!-"
There was static for a moment before a woman's voice came over the radio.
"Rick? Rick, is that you? Oh, thank god! We thought Rock Hill was destroyed!"
Namaeo noticed Rick's demeanor change but couldn't quite place what it was. Eyeing the little human, he listened more closely.
"Rebecca? Jesus Christ! I thought you... No, Rock Hill is still here. It's a safe zone! We have power, food, and water."
Rick's voice betrayed genuine concern, unlike how he spoke to the others.
"What? We have a military dork here telling us it was taken over. I'll see if I can convince the dumbass to swing us back around... But dammit, Rick, I thought we lost you! When I get there, I'm going to kick your ass!"
Namaeo snorted in amusement, imagining the small male getting kicked. Rick glanced up, shocked that the Rynar showed more emotion than a blank stare and military demeanor.
"Yeah... I'll welcome that if you guys can come home safe. We have friends here who can take care of you. If you stay on Charley Road, we can be there in a day or two! Maybe you'll get the trucks fixed before we arrive."
Soon, there was static in response; no doubt the woman had the device wrangled from her. Some minutes passed in silence as Rick waited for a response. When it was clear that none was coming, Namaeo tilted his head curiously.
"Someone important? A commander? Officer?"
Namaeo could have continued, but Rick shook his head and laughed out.
"Family... I-"
The small man looked up at the giant looming Rynar, his voice locking momentarily as he readjusted himself.
"It's just family..."
It was clear Rick was wanting to drop the subject, but Namaeo latched onto it quickly. He nodded as he stood upright again and hissed.
"Private Namaeo understands the desire to see family."
Rick was somewhat surprised but leaned on the boxes as he eyed the giant. Choosing his following words carefully, the human smiled.
"Got family with you then? I'm getting a brother-brother mentality between you Rynar."
Namaeo shook his head, flashing a grin as he looked aside.
"No... Family is not with Private Namaeo."
Rick could sense there was more to be said and would carefully prod the subject with a question.
"They wait for you at home then? Mother and Father waiting, I mean."
Rick's comment spurred a strange laugh from Namaeo as he shook his head again. Glancing down to Rick, he would kneel, making sure he wasn't breaking anything.
"Officer Mihicha... The most beautiful Rynar to live- aside from the Matriarch, of course!"
Rick rubbed his beard as he thought, nodding while averting the giant's gaze. While brief, this short interaction was already easing Rick.
"So... Who is she to you?"
Recalling Jailthar's express permission to 'buddy-buddy' with humans, Namaeo sighed with a smile. Finding a strange, calming sensation as he tried to find his words.
"Officer... Breed-mate... Friend... And lover. Private Namaeo and Officer Mihicha had been chosen by the directors to breed in the hopes of bearing a Battlemaster-worthy child."
Rick was taken aback, though not too surprised such a militant force would have semi-selected breeding.
"And did your child pass? I mean, taking a look at Jailthar... He's an absolute bear of a man."
Namaeo's translator couldn't discern the meaning behind the saying, and this caused him to chuckle. Thinking that Rick misjudged Jailthar as a furry animal.
"Not yet... Private Namaeo was on leave for the child's hatch-day... But..."
A few seconds passed, and Rick was starting to piece it together. It was subtle at first, but Rick wasn't as tense as he was just half an hour before. Namaeo smiled at this and continued.
"Oonka... That was to be her name. But the Director disliked Private Namaeo and Officer Mihicha's less than formal interactions and... Sectioned Private Namaeo away for this operation."
Rick winced, feeling it was a drafting for war. Though would give a reassuring smile.
"Hey, I'm sure you'll go home with a lot of stories to tell... I wasn't there for my kid's birth either, but that was more so my fault."
Namaeo nodded, feeling it strange he was accepting a human's condolence. However, he'd shift as his direction compass blips away from his HUD. An 'incoming transmission' flickered in its place before Jailthar's head showed in the corner.
"Private Namaeo! Human Aircraft approaching! High alert!"
Namaeo gasped as his suit gave him a small dose of adrenaline to jolt him to action. Glancing down to Rick, he grabbed his rifle before hissing sharply.
"Get inside..!"

Next part should be interesting though, but we'll get to that when it comes :3
Y'know, it's almost enough to make you forget how these lizard pukes just start eating people.
Only in selected cases, keep in mind that those types of war crimes were commited in few numbers, but that also UTO members did the same...
They were at least mostly eating cattle.
Sure they were harassing people according to Maduk, but they never ate them, tore people limb from limb, or flayed folks with their claws unlike Rynar war criminals.
I’m in no way excusing their abuse of their “hero” status like that, but it wasn’t as horrible as what Dylan saw Rynar troops happily did to helpless civilians.
Evidence to the fact that Maduk wasn’t a total psychological wreck like Dylan afterwards. Just resentful of the unfair power imbalance between humans and the giant aliens, and humanity’s seemingly total dependence upon them.
Though Maduk’s militia did fought back and we are left to speculate what followed, which didn’t sound pleasant.
But considering Maduk was still psychologically stable we can assume it wasn’t as horrible as what some individual Rynars did to those that fought back.
According to Hetzer those soldiers Maduk was referring to were punished to the point of being made examples out of and reparations were made.
Sure the Rynar war criminals were executed without mercy, but they never made reparations for the destruction they caused in their unwarranted invasion. Instead let the Union clean up their mess.
Disclaimer: I’m not on the hate Rynar and they are evil monsters bandwagon, I’m just giving a friendly comment in regards to the canon lore/story. Please don’t take it the wrong way.😄
I wonder if Dylan still feel hatred towards them?🤔 We know he’s seems more open to Sissach

Yee! Although its unfortunately likely that some UTO soldiers did do further things, I expect that they were reprimanded just the same too!~
I’m feel like maybe they did some awful things to Rynar POW/soldiers.
Maybe as a sort of an indignation towards the atrocities committed against the humans by some of them.

As always Piershey a very nice story with a cast that feels very in universe for the lore of UTO.
Looks like someone people might be in for a surprise. Nice interaction between these two characters as well.
Have to admit, these stories of yours are getting interesting with each chapter that I read.
