‘You want a piece of me? Come and get it!’
“Armor is a must for any bounty hunter, sooner or later you are going to come under fire and if you’re not properly protected you may not live to regret it. Sometimes though, armor just isn’t enough, and in cases like that Personal Defense Fields can make all the difference,… ranging from Force Field Bubbles to Energy Shields, like the one I use, they can absorb incoming fire aimed at you, or deflect it entirely.
Of course, they can only withstand so much punishment before they run out of power, so be sure to use their coverage to take out those shooting at you. For that, one weapon I often rely on is my Plasma Shotgun, shorter range than most laser weapons, but it packs a hell of a punch, and it’s great for blasting open secured doors.”

A scene that played out numerous times, in varying ways, throughout the course of the old game. The DM had a habit of underestimating the tenacity of my character, and often times would set up scenarios where he expected me, and the other players, to back down against seemingly overwhelming odds. We never did, or rather I never did, and most of the time we ended up triumphant, albeit abit worse for the wear, always to the surprise of our DM. Yet, he kept trying, you would think he would have learned after awhile. ;).
A wonderful moment of brutal chaos captured beautifully by Sho. I love how busy and intense this picture is, there is so much going on; from the hail of laser fire being blocked by his shield, to the guard being blasted on the other side, to hint of the downed guard in the corner, to the flames here and there, to the ‘shells’ flying from the plasma shotgun (not sure if those would be a thing, but they look cool). And in the middle of it all stands Grimlock, dramatically, enduring it and laying waste to everything around him like a wrecking ball, with his posing giving a feeling not only of his strength, but of ability to withstand this level of punishment and still push through it all. A great depiction of this old character that could easily have been taken right from a late night game session.
Brilliantly done, Sho, thank you very much. :)
What do you think? :D

Gotta love having your DM set out an obvious and fully prepared story and you just completely ignoring it and doing your own thing. Something you've clearly done a lot with Grimlock. ;)
Well, he still made his stories work, just not the way he intended them to, but that is pretty much how tabletop rpgs went, the DM can control everything in the campaign, except the players. ;). And yes, something I did a lot with Grimlock. ;)
Pretty much yeah, there's some things where you try to steer the players into the story you want to tell and they'll just do something like this. ;)
Well, that fairly well sums up Tabletop RPGs, the DM trying to steer the characters in the direction he wants them to go, and simply having to adapt when it doesn't work. ;)
Indeed, and yeah, the shield Sho designed for this is really cool looking. :)
Epic indeed, and Sho did draw him oddly thick, though I suppose armor over muscley results in thicc. ;)
what was the inspiration? Star Wars? Mass Effect?
Well, Grimlock was an old character of mine from a homebrew tabletop RPG that me and my friends played way back in the late 80's-mid 90's, so way before Mass Effect was even a thing, but Star Wars was definitely a big influence. In recent years I have been very nostalgic of my old gaming days and this character and that game stick out most in my memories, so I decided to get him visualized and have some fun showing him off in actiony pictures doing his thing as a bounty hunter and showcasing his various gear and weapons. :)
buddy... I think we're going to get along juuuuust fine~
One can be the strongest or the greatest badass out on their field of taking down whoever gets in their way. But they are right that one cannot go on without defense forever. But it is cool to see that laser shield on them :). Really easy to have around and not lug around ;).
Rally nice work on Sho's end once again :). To see Grimlock getting attacked on both sides, he still shows that he is well prepared for this situation ;)

Yeah, no matter how powerful you might be, you still need some defense. Yeah, the energy shield turned out really nice, and yeah, much easier to use and carry than an old style metal shield. ;).
Yeah, great work by Sho. Yeah, clearly he is no stranger to fighting multiple foes from different sides at the same, and knows how to handle such situations. ;)

Oh that's for sure. Oh definitely. When you're a bounty hunter you gotta be very mobile ;).
Considering his profession and how he's currently handling those who stand in his way, it really does show that part of him ;).
You're very welcome :)

Indeed, got stay on the move in a fight.
Yeah, it's definitely a useful ability in his line of work, and yeah, it definitely shows that he is very good at it. ;)

That you do. If you don't it may be your last mistake.
Indeed it is. And yeah he really does show that ;)
