Here is my long-overdue summary of my wonderful weekend at Furnal Equinox in Toronto! Day by day, I'll be posting my experiences to accompany a photo taken on each day.
I woke up slightly later today, my body finally getting onto the right timezone. Breakfast was a quick visit to Tim Horton's for a couple of donuts and a cup of tea. I started my working day with a visit to the Dealers' Den, to check in on our guests. So, back to Tim Horton's it was to procure breakfast and caffeine for them. :D
After some time on duty and milling about the Den, I guided a couple of the guests and their +1s to the Supersponsor Luncheon, and then headed back to the Den for a bit. Some time later, the call went out that there was some leftovers from the luncheon, and that it would surely be wasteful to allow such food to go to waste. I caught up with a couple of Supersponsor and staff friends after lunch, until hotel staff asked us to move out so they could tear down their setup. I guided a guest to one of their panels, and then spent much of the afternoon engaging in my new favourite pastime at conventions - flagging down suiters, asking for a picture, and then asking if they'd like it sent to them. I quickly learned from doing this a few times that the third part of that process is rarely repeated - suiters only infrequently get to see what they look like in suit, out and about at events and such, unless they are handled by someone who is taking photos specifically for them. So, it was something I was happy to do for the sake of mutual enjoyment (and I'd be lying if I said fursuit hugs weren't great!). ^__^
Heading back to the Den, I ran into Fulminar and MatthiasRat , who after some much-needed catch-up chatting invited me to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, a wonderful restaurant that I didn't need much persuading to agree to attend. After finishing up my liaising duties for the day and browsing the Den a little more, I met up with them and a couple others for the outing. The dinner was lovely as always (I can't say the word 'Spumoni' without my mouth starting to water :P), as was the company and conversation. In particular, I recall the server was very interested to know more about the convention from which we had all just come, and we were more than happy to enlighten him. ^^
We got back shortly before 9pm, at which point I joined Fulminar and Matthias in line in the lobby. Or, more accurately, one of the lines. Ours was pointing towards the elevators, while another which ran alongside it was running towards the soon-to-open Night Market. Any small chance of curiosity I had about attending the Night Market quickly died when I saw that line, as I'm sure you can empathise. We were kept waiting for quite a while - we later learned that the lifts had been suspended while emergency responders were taking a poor guest from the 7th floor to hospital. Though I could have used the stairs, I felt better keeping the company of those who couldn't... and after seeing a staffer come walking through the lobby, declaring that the Night Market had closed and that the line for that was to disperse, I was curious to find out more of what was going on, So, when the lifts starting working again and line got moving, I peeled off near the front to do some digging. I spoke with a couple of Nightingales and other staff and got a better understanding of the situation, and my deduction is that they had the same issues as ANE had when it first ran a Night Market last year. It may shock you to know that a lot of furries like... lewd things... who could've predicted that it would fill to capacity almost immediately?
Content that the situation was under control and there was no help I could provide, I headed back to my room for a bit before heading up to Nexus' room, to hang out with him Lanakila , larkstarr , anyare and other great people. We watched some strange YouTube videos and AvianInvasion's performance at the Saturday night dance long into the evening, until I excused myself to bed at about 2am.
Hope you enjoy!

I should talk, Bears are the #1 opportunists.

Bears and canines belong to the same family, as I recall. Where do you think I get it from? ;-p
Ah, how I fondly recall dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in '23.
I'm happy to know it is still a tradition.

Certainly is! And there'll always be a seat for you, for when you wish to return. ^^
Beautiful shot. Did you take it from the Hotel or the convention center. Either way it's very much up to your usual superior standard! :D
Goodness, thank you! There's a link bridge between the hotel and the convention centre, which has glass walls. It makes for great photo opportunities. :)
