Well not really as I kind of got wrecked as only a level 1 warrior, hence the purple sash, but all my armor had arrived so I thought this was a great time to try it all out and see how it is! And the answer was tough. Its the first time I've worn gear like this and so going to need a lot more practice to get good at moving in this. The armor all together I want to say is around twenty six-ish pounds? No helmet yet as I'll have to make that myself and still not really sure how I'm going to do that. But you'll likely notice that there is no backplate on this armor. Which I think I'll keep as something for Grizzle to have as part of his character. It shows how little he fears what he fights that he will not turn and run. And for Amtgard its something for me to keep mindful of as I'm super protected from the front but assassins can easily get me. Sure its not 'super optimal' but fighting armor can often feel really frustrating so I think having a weak spot like that is fun.
The no backplate also means it would be a lot less weight for Grizzle to lug around as he for his work has to do a lot of traveling. So it works out in many ways. I knew the armor wouldn't have it and I really like how it looks on the tunic. With the hood covering parts of it :)
All of this was mainly a general test as I've only used the armor a few times. Now back to playing Healer in Amtgard as I work toward getting level six in that class as my first class.
For this curious this is the armor I purchased just without adding the helmet to the order;
