HOMEWORK TUTOR LIST
YouTube Channel List
The purpose of this journal is to help connect students who would like tutoring in STEM fields with qualified, voluntary (and furry!) tutors. In the interest of referring students to people who can truly help them, we request that anyone who wants to be listed here provide some verification of your credentials (This includes transcripts, diplomas, .edu personal domains, publications, etc. We don't need your personal info, so feel free to redact things if you want). This process helps ensure that the group can confidently recommend a tutor, and implies nothing about the relative knowledge of any one person on the list to another. If you cannot or would rather not provide credentials, we can still list you as unverified! If you would like to be listed under a specific category, or if you would like to suggest an additional, broad category, please send a note to the group. Feel free to include any areas of specialization, examples of which can be seen below.
The tutors on this list are volunteering their time to help, and are not expected to be "on the job" 24/7. We cannot guarantee that a tutor will get back to you immediately, but anyone who wants their name listed here probably wants to help in some capacity. We encourage our members to communicate with each other on how much time they can spend tutoring!

i however, am portuguese, not english
i can help with homework in the first 3 up to colege and the 2 other up to 12th grade
As a biology major (graduate december 15 for undergrad, then moving to a doctorate program in biotechnology) I can tutor general chemistry, general biology, general materials science/biomaterials, physiology, informatics, genetics, immunology, animal anatomy and behavior, biological database usage (genbank, protein database, etc), pharmaceutical ethics, and the program LABView.
I have 1 publication here: http://ilin.asee.org/Conference2012.....rs/Fosmire.pdf (college of science one) and I can provide additional verification if required
but yeah your right hopefully this doesnt generate pride among members
I still have a ways to go but Mech engineering here, definitely interested in gelp from those above me or especially physics and chemistry
I'm most comfortable tutoring general undergraduate chemistry, chem engineering, and materials science/engineering.
... but focusing on crystal growth ... mainly semiconductor materials
I can do almost anything with biology/neuroscience, gen chem, or organic chem II. What do you need for verification?
I can help with almost anything related to computer science. Low and high level programming, databases, webdesign (though I find that quite boring) and everything related, even some digital hardware and processor design.
I'm self-taught in this area, because I started during elementary school and by the time we got programming and similar lessons at the secondary school (it's like high school, but with focus on electrotechnics and computing), I already knew way more than anyone from the school on the subject and after a year (well not even a whole year) of the college, I intentionally dropped out and now I'm starting my own company to pursue my ideas, because the school was only slowing me down from learning and putting my ideas into reality and I think that the way education system works now is quite far from ideal, but that's a whole different story.
The point is, I don't have any actual "official" education or a paper in this field, but I don't consider that important at all, because what truly matters is the knowledge and understanding of the matter and I think that I can demonstrate that.
One of my most important projects in computer science is Weird Processing Unit an alternative approach to way processors work and the way we program them. Apart from coming up with the concept, I developed a formal specification of the architectures and associated programming languages, implemented compilers and emulators for behavior testing and analysis and lastly created physical chips - digital circuits, working in real-time.
If you want some papers for verification, I've received several awards for this project (created when I was at the high/secondary school), most importantly 4th grand award at Intel ISEF 2012 - here's an abstract: http://th00.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE.....us-d53lnup.jpg And here's also a documentary that I created, which contains both my name and nick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a6he6H7Ui8
And also 1st place at the national science fair and got award from the Institute of Information Technology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (here's a scan, although it's Czech, but you can verify via translator or a Wiki, which contains Czech names: http://frooxius.solirax.org/sites/f.....cience_wpu.jpg ), with which I'm currently also cooperating with.
Another project might include my music programming and synthesis language MusicString - http://musicstring.solirax.org
Also, I do a lot of game design (everything, from the design/idea, programming, testing, graphics and graphics and sound (these are taken from various libraries though) pre-processing and of course, game design covers many areas of programming. Currently working on this: http://overlight.solirax.org but here's a compilation of my most important works, ever since the first one when I just started if anyone's interested or just skip to 13:00 or so, for the last game in the video, which I actually created over 4-5 years ago, when I was 15-16 (just around time I started high school): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8PYsYQNvlY
You can find more of my work on my personal website, if you want to verify my skills and knowledge, or just ask: http://frooxius.solirax.org
And lastly, I love helping people and explaining things to them, I've been writing many articles with that topic in Czech for over 6 years (4 years professionally) and now I'm writing mostly in English and here's a good example of my work: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles.....ming-languages
I'm working on my BS in chemistry right now- almost done with my junior year.
My specialty is actually math, though. I love calculus and other forms of infinite summation. I also like to just play around and see what formulas I can come up with. Number theory is something i'm working up towards getting better at. I also have math formulas listed in the link in my latest journal and the other things i am working on regarding those.
I used to tutor in hs for math, chem, and bio. If anybody needs help, i'd be willing to give it, provided i'm not too busy with my own work.
Just let me know.
Thank you,
-Faunoiphilia
I can help with basic semiconductor questions (ie, majority vs minority carriers, doping, crystal strcture, ohmic/schottky/pn/hetero-junctions, FETs and BJTs), but complicated stuff like signal analysis is not my strong suit.
In physics, I learned from Griffiths E&M and QM. Don't ask me about thermo, didn't have that good of a teacher.
I can also help with questions on superconductors. I researched the quantum effects of nano-scale superconductors as an undergrad.
solid state is something I struggled with, and I may find someone to consult with about quantum helpful!
I also have experience with high school level maths and biology
I speak both english and dutch, and can help with any homework related to servers, security, application and database developing~
Contact me through a note on FA if you are interested in setting up a schedule for tutoring. I have a lot of experience as a tutor and I will strive to make a difference in your academic growth.
Tutoring is conducted through Zoom and rates are negotiated based on factors such as the subject and grade level. Naturally, I can provide evidence of my degree if desired. Lastly, I will only take on clients whom I genuinely feel I am able to provide a service for.
