~Murashu
Thanks for visiting my page!
I've been a fan of sensual furry art for as long as I can remember. If you like aardwolves and artwork done of them by quality artists feel free to add me to your watch list. Links to the pages of the artists doing the work are included in the descriptions. Please visit their pages and leave compliments to the artists whose works you enjoy!
Character Description:
Aardwolves are a relatively rare character species, small and cute. Murashu is fully male, straight, playful and romantic, often humorous, and occasionally submissive or stressed by the actions of a bolder female. He has no major macho attributes or fanciful add-ons like swords, wings, robotic limbs, fast cars, or what have you. He's a sensual character who loves to tease so he's often seen naked or nearly so. He is quite flexible in his form which allows artists a great deal of leeway in how they depict him. He is often role plays a young or innocent character (a bit like Pig in “Pearls Before Swine”) but he never plays cubs or wears diapers.
Commissions
I commission works from quality artists as money permits and slots become available. I use PayPal exclusively. I'm not very good at coming up with poses so I often allow artists a lot of freedom. I like to see Murashu looking sexy, preferably in an interesting pose in exotic surroundings (I have too many generic poses of him already). I also like humorous situations, such as First Time? by Marci McAdam.
I realize that artists largely set their own terms for doing commissions and I don’t have a problem with this, but please keep in mind that the character belongs to me and I am paying you to make the picture. I’m really not that hard to deal with.
In the case of “wing-it” commissions, where I pay you up front and I am given no opportunity to approve the work during development, I reserve the right to order the picture deleted or destroyed and that you never display the work anywhere for any reason. I take my chances, you take yours. The only time I’ve ever imposed this is when an artist made Murashu look, in my opinion, flaming gay.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would put my character’s name in unobtrusive lettering somewhere on the picture. This is especially the case if you make prints! The majority of my pictures don’t have this so it’s obviously not something I insist on, but I consider it a courtesy to myself as well as a favor to other artists I commission. If a viewer sees a print of one of my characters and says, “What a beautiful aardwolf!” I would like them to know who the character is so that they can visit my page to find other works by other artists. There is also the fact that people steal other characters on a regular basis. Putting my character’s name on your work won’t prevent it from being stolen, but if it’s clearly marked with my name where you have it displayed on FA, DA, Inkbunny, etc., then people I show it to won’t accuse ME of stealing it from someone else (yes, I’ve had this happen).
Everything else is the standard stuff. I’ll put a copy of the work on my page, crediting you for your work along with a link back to your page. You put a copy on your page with a link to me as the person commissioning the work. If there is a high-res scan or file I would like a copy of it, but with the exception of making a single print for myself, I won’t make further use of the file. I won’t share the file with anyone or make additional prints to sell. You have the right to make and sell prints if you think the picture is worth the while. I would like the name of my character on the print somewhere, even if it’s just in the title or written on the back of the paper.
Character Details:
Character Name: Murashu
Copyright: 1996, his player
Species: Aardwolf
Gender: Male
Age: He's usually drawn as a young adult but I have one where he looks like a young boy. No diaper/cub stuff unless I request a baby picture.
Orientation: Straight
Base color: Can vary from tawny yellow/brown to a pale buff depending on the artist and picture. See my scraps for pictures of RL aardwolves.
Stripes: These can vary from dark brown to black depending on the picture. Again, see my scraps.
Eye color: Varies from dark brown to amber depending on the picture's needs.
Hair color: He has no human type hair but a lock of the fur on his mane might be braided or tied with something colorful to make a small ponytail. A few wisps of it might show between his ears to keep his head from looking bare, but his large ears should be all that the top of his head needs.
Other colors: Nose, lips, whiskers, and claws are all black. Pads are a dark color that contrasts well with the fur of his hands and feet.
Points: Hands, feet, muzzle, and tail tip are all the same color as the stripes.
Mane: He has a heavy mane that runs from the base of his skull down his spine and into his bushy wolf-like tail.
Height: Aardwolves are small hyenas that eat insects so he's not very big.
Weight: A healthy weight, proper for his height and build.
General build: A good build and physically fit but not buffed. A young male who takes care of himself. Well-proportioned, though his neck can be somewhat long. Muscular but not buffed.
Hands: Four fingers and a thumb, please!. Palms vary according to artist's style.
Legs: Usually digitigrade but not always. Plantigrade works better for some artists and with some poses.
Feet: For digitigrade, four toes, standard paw pads, no dew claw. Plantigrade varies but I prefer the toes to resemble animal paws with standard toe pads. In either case he has no extra pad on his hock/heel.
Body style: Usually anthro but can change in certain situations. For example, Jingle Pup by DarkIceWolf.
Clothing: Varies according to the picture and situation.
Jewelry: Unspecified, but sometimes wears two rings in his left ear.
Common mistake #1: Making his mane look like a pony tail instead of running it all the way down his back and into his tail.
Common mistake #2: Making his ears too small. Aardwolves have very large and expressive ears. You wouldn’t give a fox or coyote wolf ears, right.
Really fucked up mistake: Making him look flaming gay! Yes, I received one such work; no, you may NOT see it! If he looks foppish because he's cute I can deal, but PLEASE! no fish eyes, no hand-on-cocked-hip, no effeminate jewelry, and no silly smirks! YEESH!
Laura Westrate did one of the best depictions of his ears, mane, stripes, and overall body type and appearance. He might be a bit too yellow but I'm otherwise especially pleased with her work.
Kashmere did a wonderful sketch of him as a youngster but most pictures depict him as an adult unless I request something special.
Nisaba by Kacey is a female aardwolf but this also shows wonderful ears and mane.
