Update #1
Hello all!
Had a bit of a digital clean up a few months ago on all of my art profiles, we are back to journal Update #1 haha. Fresh start it is
I hope you have all been doing well! It has been a long time since my last post, almost a year ago since I last appeared. I have had next to zero will to be active online, so I just haven't been around at all. This is likely going to continue for some time more, but since I've been asked about it I figure I might as well make a journal post. I have some news to share as well

What I have been up to: Job and long period of reflection during hiatus
Well in my last post I mentioned that I went out and got a full time job. This has gone far better than I imagined and I still enjoy it today, over a year later. I have no intention of changing jobs any time soon, though I'm on a night shift now where my night owl brain belongs haha. But it has been strange to have a zero stress job that I don't dread going to. I guess I somehow found one that fits my personality. Plus I'm physically active there and am in the best physical shape of my life lol. I knew before I got the job that my mental health was at an all time low, but I was truly unaware of how bad it was until I went on a long hiatus from art. In the end I feel like I have been made whole again by this change and period of reflection, and I'm confident when I say I have never been happier with my life
Along with this job change I had a true hiatus with art, with little to no drawing for a year. I was in delusional in many ways about my relationship with my artwork, and I have learned a lot
When I resumed drawing I didn't post anything and have kept it all to myself and my close friends, as my relationship with social media needed evaluation as well. It has been long enough that most of my issues around art seem to have faded into the past thankfully. Being fully open on this, the sea was dark and deep and I truly didn't know if I would ever draw again. I find it fascinating that, when it all was left behind and crumbled into dust, the pull of drawing was still there. What remained was what I truly wanted from art, and it was clear. Not to get too dramatic about it haha
Anyways, I'm not giving up drawing though it almost happened!

Art plans: The webcomic's return
Now this is why I wanted to make this journal, because it needs a bit of an explanation. I've been working on my webcomic Taria again
The webcomic has become the singular focus of my attention, and will likely remain it for the foreseeable future. I have a plan in place for its production (that I will discuss more in the future) once I have the remainder of my old Taria: Prologue experiment is completed. I will not be posting pages until the rest of the prologue is 100% drawn. Nothing will likely be seen from it for many months due to my new approach in this experiment, as the entire goal of this workflow is to avoid the pitfalls of my past attempts. I will evaluate how effective the workflow is after the prologue is complete, and apply this to the main comic's production
I have been spending all my free time for weeks planning and writing the scenes for the entire main comic story, and I'm currently working on the rough draft of the actual script. This has been slow going because I'm not really a writer lol, but this is like the 4th iteration of this story and it's the first I am truly happy with. Much has changed about the story, but most of the core of the setting I have been drawing for years remains intact (things has shifted to be much more subtle and sfw, however.) I can't describe how excited I am to be finally working on this with no self-imposed limitations after nearly 10 years of drawing (my original purpose to learning how to draw was to make webcomics, after all.)
In case you are curious; the webcomic's story has a start, set acts, and an ending. I estimate it will be only slightly longer than the average printed graphic novel (page-count wise.) It will be ink and color, as my past pages have been (despite my experiments to save time, I cannot draw it without color and still achieve my vision for the project). I estimate the entire project to take at minimum 4 years to complete since I have a job outside of art. Sticking to the release format of a webcomic, regular page releases is still my plan
Since all my attention is being spent on this, it is unlikely that I will be working on much else for at least the next few months. I have some drawings I have yet to post (which I am unsure if and when I will post them), and I have some concepting to do for the comic. But, besides some sketches here and there, I don't expect to be making much else to post here anytime soon. I just wanted to make that clear lol
Side note, as I mentioned it above. The Taria: Prologue pages I started many years ago are still part of the story and will remain up. The art is pretty old and a bit awkward, but the story is still accurate. The script for the remainder of that prologue has been re-written to lead right into the start of the main comic. Since it's not part of the main comic, I will not re-draw the old pages only continue where they left off

Side note 2, FA is now my home base for art lol. My DeviantArt has been archived, low traffic profiles such as on Weasyl deleted, and I have no intention of returning to Twitter. Links to the social media accounts I will be using going forward are on my FA home page here and my website which is now TitusW.net. I do not plan on being very active besides getting a backlog up on the new sites like Bluesky and posting the rare art occasionally as the comic project is being worked on. FurAffinity is still the best place to reach me should you want to comment!
Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, I'll be trying to be better about replying to comments here going forward haha
