This image is for the upcoming werewolf calendar 2016
I was really excited to be able to do something with werewolves and Egyptian mythology. I always wondered what it would have been like if the Egyptians saw werewolves and created the Jackal God Anubis from theses sightings.
My Caption:
While many ascribed the depiction of anthropomorphized deities in ancient Egyptian culture to be allegorical metaphors to the natural world in which humans existed, some scholars now suspect there may have been a seed of truth to some of these wild bestiaries. Though it was originally thought by zoologists that the Egyptian jackal morphology was more closely related to African jackals, recent studies have resulted in a startling revelation showing a closer link between the modern gray wolf and the Egyptian jackal. Coupling this with both ancient lore and modern accounts of jackals thought to be seen in bipedal stances, it is very likely that werewolves may have a long intimate place in Egyptian history.
Pre-orders will begin on September 1st at midnight US Pacific Time (UTC−8). The first 200 Pre-orders will receive 3 bonus items: a Limited edition collectible art card/postcard by Kyndir, a sticker by Simul and a LE magnet by Johanna

I just sent this pic to my fiance who is a NEW Furry, although she is 52 years old. I am 63 and have been a Furry, all my life...
After all these years you continue to have the same style with the same quality, and elegance, as ever, I love it!
Fascinating. As long as I've been a fan of werewolves and mythology (though, admittedly, my learnings were more Greco-Roman and Norse than Egyptian) I have never once before now come across this possible connection in any fiction.
Very well done, indeed.

I like this unique perspective on the Anubis mythology. Great art as always!
Would not surprise me if werewolves helped the Egyptians build the pyramids.
Just gorgeous work, I love your colour theory maybe one day we will be able to get a colour piece from you as well.
Thanks again for the great work we love it to pieces :D

The artwork is simply fascinating an I get lost in the pictures every time I look at your work its beyond breathtaking you did a great job!
Definatly a clever idea for a picture. Brings up a REALLY good question.
Interesting that the culture apparently treated the werewolves with respect and acceptance in society. I wonder what other cultures might have similar notions...
I first saw this image when i bought the calendar. its still one of my favorites
Werewolves are cursed and mummies give curses! Ever think about that little irony?
