Engineers are the mechanical lords of Norskia. Being a rather broad definition, these are the men and women who specialize on machinery and keeping it running, be it from repairing broken parts in a crane to coding in a new firewall on a companies computer system. Throughout the centuries engineers have ranged in their professions and duties, with the official designation being used on a larger scale during the Enlightenment age when the invention of the steam engine and experiments with steam powered machinery first got underway In modern Norskia though these workers are specially trained to deal largely with maintaining machinery or constructing it. Though there are also other classes such as electrical, aerial, naval, software, and many more kinds of engineering professions that are important in keeping the nation running. Its thanks to these specialists that the factories keep producing, the heaters keep blowing, the steam generators keep burning, the vehicles keep moving, the computers keep working, and the entire society of Norskia itself continues to be able to function.

Anyone can become and engineer though as it is taught at most higher education levels such as late highschool and college, with internships often being offered to get Norskians ready for a career in more advanced fields. Though while it is optional most of the time, in times when there are extensive shortages of qualified professionals for extended periods of time the government will sometimes force those who show the most promise for engineering fields to intern under existing engineers in the hope of filling the gap in the job market.
