Yeah, this thing just became more interesting. Sad that it happened because of the harm inflicted at fellow writer, but... such official meetings aren’t my favorite. This dress code, weak alcohol... Still, I wanted to go there. It’s a rare opportunity to meet other writers face to face... sort of.
I went outside from the toilet. The investigation continued and – as expected – some figures were throwing accusations at one another. I sighed and thought about who was behind all of this. I went to the figure that was standing alone.
”And that had to happen at our meeting...”, I stated. ”Right, Wertyda?”
”Who’d do such horrible thing?”, polar bear asked.
”Someone that had not the best relation with Dead. That’s obvious.”
”But... who?”
”Wish I knew”, I shrugged. ”I’m still relatively new to all of this, so I don’t know all relations that are here. This figure must had a reason for such assault.”
”Maybe it was jealous because of better skill at writing?”
”Or probably because of some broken relationship. There’s plethora of potential reasons why this happened.”
”Yeah...”, the bear sighed.
”I certainly didn’t do it. I had no reason to send Dead to hospital or... to the dead.”
”Are jokes like this appropriate in this situation?”
”Everyone has their own way where they cope with such events. I know – etiquette and so on... but that helps with reducing the stress.”
”And what about other ways?”
”I can look for them.”
I left Wertyda and started my search for something that will be helpful to me. Wine is not an option – any liquor that has color produces worst hangovers. So – as I used this situation as distraction – I grabbed something without color and more power. Hope this case will be solved quickly.

My continuation on this week's Prompt. Such things aren't my biggest strength, especially with that amount of info, but I created this nonetheless.
Category Story / All
Species Unspecified / Any
Gender Multiple characters

Just stay away from the Jose Cuervo tequila. That's the Devil's armpit squeezings.
From my experience - when speaking about such things - best thing to do is sticking to clean vodka. There are flavored and colored variants of it, but hangover after consuming them is like one of worst things that can happen to you.
Vodka doesn't give me hangovers. Mixing my drinks does; the worst hangover I ever had involved Japanese plum wine, sake, rum, brandy, and a wine cooler (it was the early 80s).
I woke up the next morning half blind, and checked the car for dents and blood stains because I couldn't recall driving home.

Yeah, mixing is terrible too. Maybe it's not bad to mix whisky and cola, but whisky and gin? Yeah, I met that kind of people.
And that aftermath... certainly interesting, but not that pleasant.

Probably could do it better, but Prompt formula isn't helpful in this situation. Perhaps I could go with some shared project, but I'd need to know who might be interested in this.
Alcohol is a powerful mystery solver! I've solved many a mystery whilst halfway through a bottle of bourbon. Problem is, I can never remember the answers the next day!
Yeah, while drunk, you forget about your problems, so that means they don't exist for you, effectively solving them xD
Exactly! We should start a detective firm. With this philosophy, we can't fail!
I rarely drink, though when I do I'm a vodka person myself, though I admit I have a soft spot for Smirnoff Ice...mmmmmm....
And good contribution! What format for this weeks prompt would you have preferred?

Smirnoff? Fox of culture, I see.
Well, with doing stories where there are already established characters, I'd prefer having more info about them, but I know that in Prompt formula, that won't be the case. So I work with what I have, while trying to go with my imagination and attempting to not deviate from original idea very much. Idea is cool, but perhaps not in Prompts.

Well for a long time Smirnoff was really the only kind you get around here! And I see, that's understandable.
Yeah I grew up way out in the sticks, there wasn't a particularly wide selection of anything.
Not too sure why someone might want to do me in because of my writing skill... strange to be jealous over something that I don't possess!
Nicely done, do enjoy the rest of the party.

You underestimate yourself. As I was checking some works on this website, I'd say that overall writers participating in Prompt possess better writing skills than other writers here.
And don't worry, the mystery will be solved eventually.

Thanks. I'm not used to doing such type of writing. After someone, I mean.
Picking up where another writer left off is tough, but it's good to test yourself and try different things.
and that's why we try different things Z... we have to step out of our comfort zone and we learn from that...

On the contrary, friend. You perfectly captured exactly what I (and most of us) would actually do in an actual murder mystery: make dark jokes, drink heavily, and wait for the main characters to solve it :>
> any liquor that has color produces worst hangovers
I KNEW I wasn't the only one who noticed this...

Well, it's better to leave such work to professionals. And since you can't leave, you might want to... kill some time while waiting for your freedom.
Yeah, every experienced alcoh... ekhem... I mean "connoisseur" knows about this. That's why you should be careful with your drinks and preferably stick to pure vodka.

As someone that used to participate in liquor production (legal, of course), I know thing or two about it.
Oh, damn, that's fascinating!
Would love to hear how you got into it, and if there are any insider secrets that we mere consumers wouldn't know. If you're willing to share, of course <3

If I wanted to share that info then definitely not in the public.
You can send me a note here, but you can also contact me on other platform - you have more info in my profile here.
