Predator and prey. Giant and small. Immortal and mortal. Opposites of each other. To question what these two had in relation would be denying nature itself. The predator hunted the prey. The big ate the weak. The immortal outlived the mortal. Two different coins where one completely covered up the other. In modern society, when the predator, the giant, the immortal met with the prey, the small, the mortal, what would the dominant race do with the less dominant?
"Sorry!"
It had been another day of a macro deciding to rampage in the west side of the city. Whatever this one was, it did the usual stuff that the others did. Be big. Be annoying. Stomp out the city. Use buildings like toys. It was something the protogen had gotten used to living in the city. In fact, he could feel the dust piling up all around him. Sam reached down to his ears, giving them a light shake. The only bad part about having such big ears.
The protogen fluffed up his ears from all the dust before paying attention to the giant concrete cocktail mixed with broken glass and a hint of valuables ahead of him. He was quick to lean forward, quickly pushing his board onto the sidewalk. With most of his momentum gone, the explorer slammed his boot down into the ground and pushed. This was exactly what he had needed. A small little detour before going to work.
Sam duck down under a fallen street pole. The strain on his khakis were nothing new compared to lifting up the numerous boxes at the warehouse. Lifting box after box after box had made him choose pants big enough to fit his needs. Sam slowed down when seeing that one of his paths were actually blocked off by a building. "Aw man." Sam pushed his foot back into the curve of the board and felt himself come to a stop. "Could have been any other road but no." Sam complained aloud to the heavens above, but alas, they would not come rescue him from his dilemma.
Sam picked up the board and waltzed over onto towards a giant hole that looked to be his way through. Sam caught himself tripping into the side of the building and in without any more issues. It appeared to be a kitchen for a restaurant considering the food that was knocked over on the table mixed with the stoves and fridges along the wall. Sam went to the double doors that separated the main dining room and the kitchen. He stopped when it gave him a bit of resistance.
"Really?" Sam complained and exited the building. Sam walked out and clambered over onto the knocked over building. It looked like an apartment complex if it weren't for the destroyed exterior. While most of it was blocked off, Sam found a way in from a broken window that had more than enough space for him to enter through.
Gingerly, Sam would step over the broken glass, ensuring not to cut his ears, and enter into the apartment. Whoevers room he had entered, it was a mess. Dust, shattered plates, clothes, and a guitar were all strung about the room as he entered into it. He stepped on pieces of glass and porcelain, heading for the door. With a bit of struggle, Sam managed to pry open the door.
Sam would gently cross into the next door way and landed on top of picture frame. He didn't think much as he slipped out the window and into the open sky. With that, Sam ran alongside his board and skated down the rest of the road. Thankfully, the rest of the road was unblocked. That was until he ran into a giant pillar that fell right in front of his path.
Sam let out a small scream before crashing into the sidewalk. He managed to put his hands on the cement and cushion his head from any impact. That didn't mean it hurt. His body flipped over and next thing he knew, his ears were over his mask and his whole body hit the ground. "Ah." Sam let out a whimper of pain, rolling over onto his stomach and just laying there. That hurt. A lot. Sam slowly pushed himself up, glancing at the giant pillar.
"Hey are you okay?!" Sam stopped at hearing the loud voice. It was too loud to be a normal person so then it was... Sam, almost like in a horror movie, turned to face the macro. It was... A cat. A calico to be exact and a massive one at that. They were wearing an overall like a janitor at a school might wear and they were staring directly down at Sam. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine." Sam replied back to the giant who scratched their head.
"Sorry!"
The giant bowed her head down to the protogen rabbit. She raised her head up before getting down, lifting a leg in the air and lowering her torso as close to the ground as she could which meant lying on the very pillar that nearly crushed him. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing out here? I'm pretty sure there was an evacuation order for the area." Sam was thrown off by the giant heeding him any mind, much less the fact it was so friendly with him. That was certainly a rare sight.
"Oh. I have work. It was sort of in this direction. Typically, all of this stuff would have been fixed up by now." Sam explained to the giant cat who gave a nod. "There's more damage than I thought there would be. I can't work on the east side of the damage so now I'm here." The cat explained her troubles to the small proto. Sam quickly put two and two together. "Wait, you're the one that fixes everything?" Sam shouted up to the cat.
She merely shifted her shirt around to show off a logo on it. Dynamic Clean Up with a logo of a broom and panhandle on her left breast. "Yup. Or at least the lady who cleans everything up. Just enough for everyone else to fix it." The cat leaned back down, putting her cheek onto her hand, "If you want, I can carry you to work. Least I can do for nearly crushing you. Not like I'm doing anything right now." The cat offered down the rabbit. Sam perked up at hearing that.
To ride on a macro to work? That sounded way better, and safer, than going across town. "Sure! I can point to you where it is." Sam glanced at the hand that was extended out to him. Slowly, he stepped up onto the hand, careful to pull his ears up with him in case they got stuck on anything. "Oh, I'm Sam by the way." Sam introduced himself up to the big cat. Her eyes went wide and her mouth went into a massive O shape.
"Yooooooo. My name's Sam too." The cat introduced herself to Sam. Sam began to stand up, having a bit of a chuckle to herself. Sam got up from the pillar, nearly stumbling over some more concrete she would need to sweep up later. Sam soon got into a decent pace compared to Sam's skateboard. Sam could only really stand there, watching what would have taken him at least a couple of pushes off of the board to cross be covered in merely a single step.
Sam and Sam remained silent for the whole trip, having nothing really to talk about. Sam had to think of something. It was hard to do so though. Think, think! Sam finally turned, his ears flopping at the speed he turned his neck. "Hey Sam? So you come around here often? Because I bet you're a real step around town." Sam hoped that the joke stuck. "Nah. First time in the area. Plus, there's nowhere for me to really walk around." Nope. Not even close to home.
"But, you're walking now." Sam pointed out to which Sam merely nodded. "The area is already destroyed plus I'm working." She pointed out the differences between her walking normal and her walking during her work. Sam just fell silent again. That wasn't exactly the smoothest conversation he had. "Sorry." Sam stopped when hearing that, raising an eyebrow at the small bunny proto. "You didn't know. It happens." Sam curled her hand around Sam before hopping over one of the collapsed buildings.
Sam's entire body shook, his ears flying all over the place. He shivered at realizing just how much power Sam had behind her body. That's when he realized that he was close to the warehouse district. He kind of was curious more about Sam plus who doesn't become instant friends with someone with the same name? "Hey, you have like a discord or number? Maybe we can talk some more?"
"Sure. Let me giiiiiiiiive..." The big cat fumbled around in her breast pocket. She pulled out a big container and moved it down to her hand, "You this." She pressed a button on the container, dropping a card down onto her palm. Sam glanced at the normal sized card, going to pick it up to see a phone number on it. There were a few other things like the company's logo, a location, and 'Sam' written on the front.
Sam went ahead to put it into his pocket, noticing his warehouse was a little past Sam. "You can put me down now!" Sam shouted up to the big Sam. Sam stopped before lowering her hand down for Sam. He hopped down and turned to face the giant. "So, call me later?" "Yeah, you bet." Sam assured Sam. "Then see ya later, Sam!" Sam waved off as she turned around, beginning to walk back towards the destroyed city. "Yeah, I will! Bye Sam!" Sam said to his new friend, Sam.
Sam walked towards the warehouse and grabbed the door. He pulled it, only feeling the door refuse to bulge open. Sam opened up his phone to call his boss. That's when he saw his mistake. "Warehouse is closed as part of the city evacuation. There's a gas leak in the area." Sam put his phone back into his pocket before glancing in the direction of Sam. He quickly started to run towards the giant in a hurry. "Sam! Sam wait up!"

Who wouldn't want to meet the person who ends up cleaning all the macro rampages across town? Probably the macros who did all the damage! Another request for a friend.
