Sly Cooper: Sins of the Fathers (Page Thirty-One)

Page 31 of "Sins of the Fathers"
Carmeltia snaps back to the present...and whether out of wounded pride, stubborness, or her sense of justice, Carmelita isn't content to let Cerberus have the last word, let alone walk away. Mind you, most people might consider continued defiance in the face of an opponent who's proven themselves more skilled and resourceful to be unwise, especially when the person doing the defying has three out of four limbs injured (albeit not broken) and their main weapon isn't functional. Most people would have the common sense to eat the loss and live to fight another day, and perhaps even consider whether their opponent's taunts might include some hard truths.
But then again, most people aren't Carmelita Fox. Most people aren't the kind of cop who at least tries to live up to the ideals of the badge (black-and-white mentality notwithstanding). Most people haven't already gone through degrading humiliation at the hands of a creep like Le Paradox.
And most people don't carry a backup gun.
CREATOR'S NOTES:
Surely you didn't think it was OVER, did you?
In hindsight, Cerberus REALLY should have paintballed Carmelita's left arm, too. But he wasn't counting on her to power through the pain (and potential fractured bones) through sheer stubborness and devotion to her badge. Of course, if he were ruthlessly pragmatic, he would have just gone for a headshot, and with a LETHAL round. But that would be WAY darker than I'm willing to go. So Cerberus has a mixture of fair play and a desire to prove Carmelita wrong, and she gets a chance to fight another day.
Or right now, as the case may be. But I hope I've established that this is taking an effort on Carmelita's part.

Wow, Carmelita has thought ahead and learned to carry a backup gun, and a compact revolver with lethal rounds.
