His work done, Cerberus boards the chopper, where a pleased Penelope is ready to make their getaway. But as he slides into his seat, Cerberus looks back just in time to see Carmelita aiming her backup pistol at him. Combat reflexes take over as the professional criminal raises his own gun, prompting Carmelita to conclude it's now or never.
Two fingers pull two triggers. Two thunderclaps of igniting gunpowder blend together.
This might not be the Old West, there might not be any sun in the sky, and it may not be anywhere near high noon...but all the same, it's about to boil down to who's faster on the draw, and who's the better shot.
Or maybe who's just luckier.
CREATOR'S NOTES:
I know the split-screen median in the middle panel is a little crooked. I didn't anticipate how much space both individual screenshots would take up, and where they might overlap. By the time I realized my mistake, I'd already stacked multiple versions of the screen-shot atop one another and blurred the helicopter rotors, and going back to adjust the perspective of the screenshot seemed like too much hassle. Note to self for future projects -- get a better idea of spacing!
