Absurdly, I’m reminded of an old Dorling-Kindersley game involving cross-sections of a castle (obviously with some details altered):
“Step back. Back in time to 14th century Europe, where you are a young page on your way to serve in the castle of the infamous Baron Mortimer. *portcullis opening* But wait. You have a choice. The king mistrusts the treacherous Baron-
‘Spy in the castle- *indistinct mutters*. Come in!’
-and needs someone like you to enter the castle as a spy. He wants you to gather as much information as possible, from all the castle inhabitants. But be wary. If you let your disguise slip-

As to the machicolations, I might have seen mentions of the tactic of dropping stones or boiling pitch on the attackers during a siege, though I don’t recall the feature being named as such. In complete fairness, it has been awhile since I played it.

pffft.. hahaha.. I bet.. intel gathering. I bet it was a rather stiff search into some opulent files.. perhaps digging in a little deeper so none of those pesky facts got away... I bet that was one pantry that got searched.. quite thoroughly
