It was perhaps one of the biggest jobs that I had ever undertaken yet… One that even with careful preparation and planning ahead well before daring to set foot into the lion’s den, could’ve still gone very wrong at any given turn if the enemy had been given the right opportunity to turn the tides against us. And though I’ve been an expert in the field of hunting down all kinds of malignant supernatural threats for quite a few years now, be they fiendish, undead, fey, or even an aberrant beast of an unusual nature which had never been seen before, even I know that it never hurts to have some help here and there.
Naturally, as my closest partner and dearest beloved, Henry came along as we received a summons to a small farming town out near the hills that had recently fallen prey to nightly raids by marauding supernatural forces over the course of the past three days. Demons, to be more specific, they had suspected. At least that was as much as the town authority were able to tell us from what they were able to see of the intruders, having seen glimpses of them darting off towards the tree line of the surrounding forest after carrying out their horrific spree, setting fires to houses and whatever buildings they could, burning barns and entire crop fields to the ground, and causing widespread destruction wherever they went. The death toll had already reached above the tens as they were still trying to recover the charred corpses of those who hadn’t been able to escape fast enough from the smoldering ruins of where their homes had once stood, and there were many more casualties yet as those who suffered severe burns and other injuries from being attacked by their demonic assailants were being treated by the local healers.
At a loss due to lacking the necessary resources to deal with these recurring incursions during the ungodly hours of the night, and their hands currently full with trying to tend to their citizens and extinguishing the fresher fires that hadn’t been put out yet, the townsfolk turned to us to take care of this threat. And at the very least, they were able to provide us with the relative location of where they suspected the demonic assaults were originating from. A large cavern network going deep into the hills over yonder that used to be an iron mine in previous centuries, and what the town used to be known for when it had first been settled until the ore supplies finally dried up. Since the last of the iron had been excavated from it and nothing more of value could be found within the caves, the old mine lay there abandoned and untouched for as long as any of the locals could remember. But after the latest nighttime incident of their village being stormed by these intruders who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, the town authority sent a few scouts out to trail after any stragglers they could find to determine where they could be coming from. And from what reports they could give, all signs pointed to that abandoned quarry in the hills…
While out and about in town gathering what information we could regarding the threat, that was when Henry and I first met Puera, an interesting individual who would quickly grow to become both a good friend and close associate of ours. As luck would have it when we managed to run into each other along the way and got to talking, she had come here for the exact same reasons as we did. To investigate the sudden appearance of this demonic invasion, and take care of it as quickly as possible before more casualties begin stacking up and other areas may eventually fall victim to the very same troubles. Naturally, she asked if she could accompany us, offering her aid with her abilities of using moon magic to not only heal even major wounds and injuries, but also to empower and enhance our own capabilities to deal more damage to our foes as needed. And since we didn’t exactly have a good frame of reference as to how big of an enemy force we were dealing with, it only made sense that it was better for us to stick together. ‘The more the merrier’, as they say, right?
Once all agreements were settled amongst ourselves, necessary preparations made, and a rough plan on how to tackle this situation we were practically throwing ourselves into nailed down, the three of us set off out of town together only a couple hours before sundown. All along the way, we could see more glaring signs of just how much damage these bastards had wreaked… Passing by the still smoldering remains of torched houses, shops, and ruined pastures abound as we chased the steadily fading rays of the setting sun into the highlands beyond, the sights of such wanton destruction only further bolstering my anger and resolve. No matter what might happen once we set foot into that lion’s den where danger would surely be awaiting us, we were going to end this terrible cycle tonight one way or another. No more innocent blood would be spilled, no more razed homes and families ripped apart by such reckless devastation… Not while we were able to do something about it.
As Henry and I had dealt with our own fair share of these sudden and unexpected invasions occurring seemingly out of nowhere, the signs of why this was happening seemed to point to what we had nailed down as one of the usual suspects that we came across more often than not. A rift between this world and somewhere in the outer planes beyond had been opened somewhere within the relative area, allowing extraplanar trespassers to pour into the realm as they pleased and inflict their awful deeds upon those unfortunate enough to be standing in their path. These ‘rift predators’, as we tend to call them, usually invade either alone or at most in fairly small packs, primarily so that they could stay relatively undetected for as long as possible. At least until enough casualties began to stack up to make the locals suspicious of something strange going on in the area, in which case a predator might try to quietly and quickly take their leave if they were smart enough to know not to stick around. Especially major incursions where entire platoons of invaders came through a rift were rare, but certainly far from unheard of. If a portal leading into the realm from the worlds beyond was made large enough or persistently stayed open for long periods of time to allow for such grand-scale invasions to occur, it could quickly spiral out of control and become a huge problem if left unchecked.
That’s where hunters like us come in… To not only eliminate and ward off the vicious threats that make their way into this world, but to nip any and all such dimensional breaches at the bud to ensure that such worse case scenarios don’t ever come to fruition.
Tracking down these fiends to their supposed lair was hardly much of a challenge. Even though they’d been careful enough to not leave obvious physical tracks behind whenever possible, their lingering aural signatures and scent trails were faint but still clear enough for those with keen extrasensory capabilities to detect. The telltale smell of smoke and sulfur that my sharp nose could pick up and Henry’s aura readings were enough to glean that these were notably low-level demons, mere grunts and minion types that hung around the bottom-most rungs of the hellish hierarchy ladder. Hardly much of a notable threat on their own save for their natural weapons and minor magical capabilities like flinging a bit of fire around, but in especially large groups they could be very dangerous, relying mainly on their sheer numbers to overwhelm and take down stronger foes by swarming them all at once. Even if we were capable of handling a huge horde of them between the three of us, we would still do well to not let them get the drop on us if it could be helped.
And as Puera had pointed out during our discussions, these demons would still have some kind of rudimentary general knowledge of their surroundings and the overall layout of the caves even if they hadn’t been there for long, which would give them an advantage as we were essentially flying into this completely blind. Once inside, we’d have to proceed with caution and keep a close eye out for hidden corners, alcoves, and even carefully watch the walls and ceilings for any vantage points they could potentially use to ambush us.
Upon reaching the cave entrance, that telltale demon stench that I’d been picking up on to track them alongside my companions practically punched me right in the nose even before we stepped inside with how much more strongly concentrated it was here. The odious funk of brimstone and smoke seemed to hang in the air within the cavern like a rancid miasma, clinging to and permeating every last inch of stone and earth. Disgusting… but I was willing to do my best to weather through it until we could get this done and over with.
We proceed into the cave with caution, making sure to stay close together as we give cursory sweeps of every new area we encounter and around every corner we turn. With it being a former mine back in its glory days, the passages we walk through are thankfully not claustrophobically tight and are wide enough to give us more freedom to move about, but that looming sense of restriction from the low-hanging ceilings and knowing that our foes could be waiting to pounce on us at any given turn was still enough to make us feel not fully at ease. Henry’s aura reading ability gives us a good general idea for the direction we need to go as we navigate our way around, and for detecting for any sneaky fiends that may be hiding out behind rocky outcroppings and stalagmites or watching for interlopers from their perches on the walls. The bastards do definitely try to get the drop on us at least a few times, leaping out with claws and teeth bared to swipe at us from darkened corners behind stone deposits or preparing to rain down fireballs from above as soon as we step beyond a new entryway. But whatever element of surprise they had is foiled as soon as Henry senses them, and we retaliate in kind with blasts of eldritch flames, destructive waves of bright blue energy, and a salvo of moon bolts, banishing them into little more than stinking piles of ash in a matter of moments.
After we demolish the third squad of horned menaces as they try one last time to set a trap for us, it’s clear they realize they’re in for more than they expected as we hear a multitude of frantic claws scraping over stone, the rest of the scouts scurrying away deeper into the caves. It’s clear we’ve got them on the run now, all that remained was to find and eliminate the rest of what was still left of the overall mob. And whether they realized it or not, the fleeing lookouts were inadvertently leading us right to them. But even so… while it was certainly good that they were being put on the defensive now, they could only be feigning fear and cowardice as a means to lure us into a false sense of security and lead us into an even larger ambush that was waiting somewhere up ahead. Having dealt with their kind before on many occasions, we understood demonic creatures and their behaviors enough to know that this was all the more reason to not let our guards down even for a second…
We had a feeling that we were certainly in for quite a battle once we hit the cavern’s main chamber, where the narrow path opened up into a grand, circular shaped room where clearly a lot of the iron ores that used to be mined here came from… The walls were pockmarked with small holes where ore used to be and alcoves leading into smaller tunnels to get at the minerals within the deeper layers, and the floor of the cave was sparsely littered with large rocky outcrops and scattered stalagmites. The only lighting in the chamber came from above where a large crack splitting through a section of the roughly twenty foot high hewn stone ceiling let a few rays of sunlight filter in from outside, casting a large softly glowing pool towards the centermost point of the space yet leaving much of the surroundings still shrouded in dusk and darkness.
The rift hanging there at the furthest reaches of the cavernous room immediately caught our attention as we entered, a huge, gaping wound in reality as if some great beast had carved out a man-sized gash through the air itself, radiating a vile black energy from around its edges. The entire area reeked with the foul, acrid odor of corruption and sulfur as the influence of the scorching hellscape beyond was steadily bleeding through the dimensional fissure into its surroundings, the planar gap reflecting visions of obsidian mountains reaching up towards smog-choked grey skies with craggy claws, veins of boiling magma rivers flowing through the rugged land around them with skeletal, stony trees scattered along their banks.
Though the most disturbing detail that we all noticed right away as we pushed further into the room was the dead silence that hung in the atmosphere here, the only sound present being the scratching of our own claws as we traversed across the rock floor. It was far too quiet… which only added on to that growing gut feeling of anticipation and foreboding that our adversaries were laying close by, waiting for the exact opportunity to present itself. Immediately we halted our advance upon this realization, hackles raised and on high alert, Henry’s aura readings of the room bringing further confirmation of what our fiendish foes were planning just as they came charging out at us from the shadows.
It was clear they’d changed up their tactics... having taken the opportunity while we'd made our way inside the chamber to silently surround us on all sides so they could hedge us in and block off nearby exits, the three of us now essentially stranded together in the center of it all. A single large rocky outcropping stood there at our backs, surrounded by too many demons to count in all directions as far as the eye could see. They practically blanketed nearly every inch of the floor and walls, a crimson sea of grasping claws, gnashing teeth, and burning eyes quickly bearing down on us like a tsunami only mere moments before it struck the shore.
Acting quickly, I unleash the devilish energy from deep within myself, feeling the welcoming, familiar sensation of horns and large, feathery wings bursting out from underneath my shawl, my fangs lengthening and gaining an acute, predatory edge, and my innate arcane power surging hot and wild through my veins in preparation for battle. Henry follows suit as I sense the familiar spirit of his Voidwalker form emerging, taking on wings of jagged, ethereal feathers and a crown of curling horns, his markings and claws darkening, and his aura thrumming with intense energy as I feel it resonating in tandem with my own. All three of us exchange a brief glance, feeling that sense of close camaraderie and understanding that we’d have each other’s backs even if things may end up taking a grim turn, and then we leap into the fray as the first incoming waves of enemies reach us.
In an instant, the world around us explodes into an absolute bedlam of chaos and havoc, the thunderous chorus of hisses and howls from our fiendish foes clashing with our own fierce snarls and shouts in a feverish maelstrom. With a quick sweep of my hand a wave of bright violet flame bursts forth, catching an approaching squad as they lunge forth, engulfing them, their battle cries become agonized shrieks as it consumes their flesh and snuffs out their souls in an instant. Funneling more eldritch power, I concentrate the fire into my hands, wreathing them in blazing energy as I bare my claws and send out more fiery lashes as the fallen foes were quickly replaced by others rushing in to fill the gaps. All the while, I can feel invigorating bursts of strength surging through me as Puera channels her moon magic to bolster us, sparks of brilliant white interlacing within my flames and Henry’s void projectiles to further boost their great power while we send volley after volley into the enemy lines.
Though despite their lack of fortitude and strength as mere grunts, one advantage that the devilish horde certainly did have over us was their seemingly limitless and annoyingly vast numbers. No sooner had we managed to decimate the incoming forerunners, even more waves swept in to take their place the very next instant as they lashed out at us, clearly intent on not giving any breathing room in hopes of eventually overtaking us in a brutal skirmish of attrition. Standing back to back together, Henry and I blasted them on our respective sides with large area of effect attacks to catch as many as possible while Puera covered our blind spots, continuously bombarding the mobs moving try and flank us from behind with cascades of divine moon bolts to keep them at bay. However, some did manage to break through our formation and lunge in far too close for comfort, and before I realize it there's a momentary flash of pain as dagger-sharp claws slash open a pretty sizable gash in my leg.
Though it felt like it hardly hurt as the adrenaline surging through me blocked out the lingering sting. If anything it only served to stoke my fury as I wasted no time ripping the sly little bastard’s face off and tearing open its neck with my own fiery talons in return, charring its corpse to cinders before it could hit the ground. Moving to quickly put more distance between the approaching lines as they were now focusing on hemming us in, I leap back and away, firing off another burning shot in tandem with Henry as he blasts a surge of savage energy into the crowds to banish them into ash and dust. The coarse, rugged surface of the huge rock standing at our backside meets my feet, digging in my claws reflexively to hold on tight as I look out over the arena from my new vantage point. Already Puera’s healing aura is quickly working to mend my wound, and I could see beyond our position that the horde’s numbers were steadily starting to thin out. While they were certainly many, there were still only a finite number of them, and it didn’t seem like any reinforcements were coming out from the rift either. Not yet, anyway… Though we certainly wouldn’t want to wait around long enough for that to happen, if it could be helped.
Already seeming to sense this was a losing fight, the fiends in the rearmost ranks were starting to falter, some breaking off to instead make a run for the open portal in a last ditch desperate attempt to escape while their fellows at the forefront had us preoccupied. Flashing a bold grin as the flames at my hands sparked and blazed brighter with my increasing confidence, I gave out a quick call to my companions before kicking up off the rock, spreading my wings wide and beating them hard to take to the air. The rocky ceiling up above would certainly limit my range of flight far more than I was normally comfortable with, but I could still glide high enough to provide aerial support and prevent any would-be deserters from fleeing back to their home plane.
Soaring up above the battlefield, I sweep a hand forth and intone the arcane words of a spell under my breath. Just below me the air seems to spark momentarily before huge sheets of violet flames burst up from the ground, forming a wall of sorts between the encroaching squads and my companions as they stretch across almost the whole span of the cavern floor and reach up towards the lofty ceiling. The blazing barricade swiftly engulfs and obliterates any fiends that come in too close, but leaves Henry and Puera otherwise unharmed as the fire just barely licks around their feet. All while I directed a storm of lightning bolts at the retreating backs of any escapees to eradicate them before they could reach the rift, the mob’s arrays becoming increasingly staggered and disorganized as their numbers continued to swiftly dwindle.
It was definitely clear that we’d thoroughly won this confrontation, though this nightmare would only truly be over after the still wide open portal could be dealt with. Preferably before much larger and potentially stronger invaders could start pushing their way through, maybe it was by a stroke of luck that only low-level demons had managed to get in thus far... Though it was probably a good idea to not test that blessing any more than necessary, as we swiftly took off to chase down and eliminate the retreating remnants of the demonic crowd before charging headlong for the rift to finish the job for good.
An absolutely super epic and fantastic dual commission that I got a while back with my dear good friend and beloved sweetheart Hellkiller777, featuring my demon lynx lady Kira, his lovely Sergal Henry sporting his relatively new Voidwalker form, and a special guest appearance from a gorgeous lady fox named Puera, an original character belonging to the super sweet and wonderfully talented Stranshiba who also drew this incredible art piece! Here, it looks like they've chosen to team up together and become one hell of a triple threat, bringing the fight and the incoming hurt to a rather large mob of demons that they found during their adventures! The more the merrier, as they say, and you can bet that you'll be able to rest easy even with uninvited fiends invading the world right outside your doorstep with this trio on the case! Hehe~
That being said, though, this piece certainly came out amazingly, for sure! It absolutely looks and feels like a scene of the heroes going up against what seems like almost impossible odds, yet knowng like they'll still come out on top by the end of the battle! The nice-looking dynamic poses, the bold and confident grins and expressions on the faces of our characters, and the glow of the flames on Kira's hands and the scattered sparks of magic all around as Puera empowers her allies with her own energy really gives that epic fantasy edge to it. And that's not even to speak of the awesome composition either, how the three of them are all huddled together in the very center of the piece around the large rock as the demon horde surrounding them can be seen not only scattered throughout the background, but also seeming to creep into frame from the foreground as well. Really gives it a nice sense of depth and perspective, as if you're observing the incoming fight from a distance somewhere behind the fiendish enemy lines. And of course the texturing, shading, and detail work on all of the fur and feather, the folds and decorative pieces on their clothing, the cool metallic sheen of their armor pieces, even the way the light spilling in from above falls on and illuminates most brightly on the three in the center while the mob surrounding them is kept mostly in shadows... Just so gorgeous and super well done, and would you believe me if I said that this is actually a sketch piece? It's almost hard to believe with the sheer quality and level of detail that went into it, the artist certainly did a very incredible job with this overall, without a shadow of a doubt~ <333
Once again, this amazingly and superbly done art piece was courtesy of the equally amazing, super sweet, and magnificently skilled Stranshiba! Thank you so very much once again for such a fantastic art piece, and for the great opportunity to work with both you and my dear Henry for this as well! It was such an awesome journey to really watch this all come together throughout the whole process, from designing such cool outfits for our characters to use both for this and future art pieces as well, to seeing this whole epic scene come together over the many different stages! It was such a cool experience for both Henry and I to collaborate with such a lovely and kind person like you, and even if this took quite some time to finish it was most certainly very worth the wait! We certainly hope to be able to have the opportunity to work with you again on something like this sometime in the near future, for sure! And definitely do keep up the beautiful artworks in the meantime as well, when you're able to at least~ <333
And if you're not doing so already, then I implore you to hop on over to Stranshiba's page, give her a watch, leave some faves on the original post of this piece over in her gallery and any of her other works there that catch your fancy, and if you like the look of her stuff and what she has to offer then please consider shooting her a commission as well! Her regular artworks are absolutely incredible and gorgeously detailed and rendered, and while they're certainly quite pricey and slots for them are quite limited it's certainly very worth getting one if you enjoy her style! And if you're looking for something that's more fitting for your budget and not quite as expensive, her sketch pieces like this one are still quite lovely and of very nice quality for the price! In fact, Stranshiba has opened up 3 slots to take sketch commissions fairly recently where you can choose to get 2 chibis or a halfbody art piece with simple background included for $60 apiece, and there have yet to be any takers! So if you'd like to order some awesome art for her in the meantime until she can start taking regular commissions again (they're currently closed for the time being until summer due to her being busy with school) then now is a great time to do so! And even if you're unable to afford it or aren't particularly interested in getting art, I highly encourage you all to give an amazing and lovely artist the support and attention she deserves by at least following her on her page!
Links to Stranshiba's commission info and prices (if you'd like to check them out for now until she's open for regular comms again) as well as her ongoing $60 sketch commissions will be provided below! If you're interested in ordering some super nice art from her, then please do let her know, and if not then sharing her stuff around with your friends, followers, and others who might like to take up the offer would be greatly appreciated!

Very badass indeed!! Stranshiba really did a phenomenal job making this feel very epic and almost cinematic in a way, sorta like a scene from an animated fantasy movie or something like that! All that’s missing now is some awesome and dramatic battle music in the background to really complete the vibe! And of course!! Bring your sharpest weapons or whatever it is that you use specially for fighting evil demons and monsters, and join in on the hunting party! There’s always plenty of room for more if you’re willing and able, hehe~ 😁
Ahhhhh thank you so very much as always for the fave and for your kind and supportive feedback as well, Case!! I did try my best to try and capture that epic fantasy battle kind of feel for the story, it’s not often that I get to write out fight scenes so this was a pretty fun one for me! And I’m very glad to hear that that intent was very much achieved, would definitely to be able to do stories for more of these kinds of scenarios in the near future, for sure! And as always, I really can’t express in words how deeply grateful and appreciative I am for your support and the constant positive presence you provide, it really helps to give me more inspiration and motivation to keep doing my best to continue creating new stories! And I hope that you’ll enjoy what all there’ll be to come in the future as well! Thank you so very much yet again, my good friend, never stop being awesome and bringing all of the good vibes with you wherever you go! And I always look forward to being able to hear from you whenever you can stop by~ 💜💜💜

If you invite Senna (Kira's witch) to the party, you could reasonably call yourselves a force of nature :>
Hehe, oh for sure~ I feel like any wicked evildoers will think at least twice before messing with the likes of us! As strong as we are apart, when combined together we’re certainly quite the unstoppable force to be reckoned with! 😁
Thank you so very much as always both for the fave and for your wonderful comment as well, Thieu! Your attention and support for these artworks and short stories is very deeply appreciated, and it really means a lot that people do enjoy reading them! My many, many, MANY thanks to you, and I’m always glad to hear from you whenever you can stop by, my good feathered friend~ 💜💜

A splendid double commission! Pictures that feature multiple personal characters from different people that have something interesting going on between them are close to the pinnacle of collaborative community art-making, and this picture is even more thrillingly deep with it being an illustrated story, or an annotated drawing!
Your creative versatility has ambushed me with the choice of subject matter for this -- I'd grown to associate your works with pensive, psychological studies of relationships and going through difficult life situations, and a swashbuckling demon-mop-up adventure scenario seemed like a complete rogue element.
And yet -- it works! It is a very cool little battle reenactment, as for soulful character studies, it portrays the camaraderie, the esprit de corps of strangers forging their future friendship, and old associated reasserting their rapport, in the crucible of perilous communal endeavor.
The emotional life of this story is healthy and vigorous, with the motivation building up through the images of destruction and victims of the demonic interlopers, the tension growing as the team descends deeper into the hostile territory, and the final battle unfolding excitingly from the the initial appearances of overwhelming danger, to personal injury marking the explorers being pushed to the limits of survivability, and finally the cathartic turn of the tide and triumph.
I loved the descriptions of the environments the characters are navigating, from the safety of the town, to the ravaged countryside, and to the mines -- especially the mines. Same as with your story of Kira's tandem flight, and with Senna's ecologically-minded patrolling, the knowledgeable descriptions of the logic and purpose of the mine's layout was a delight to read, and you deserver endless accolades for putting in the effort to research something that could so easily have been some featureless, generic caverns.
The descriptions for how demons operated, how they used the dimensional rifts to enter the world and raid the out of the way, undefended parts of civilized communities, always posing a threat of a larger, more devastating and more lasting invasion -- those warmed my heart as well, because of how often the foes that adventurers hunt don't have any substance for survival, no ambitions or place in the world around them.
The descriptions of combat magic may have gotten close to echoing tabletop roleplaying mechanics, but later in the story, more detailed descriptions of what those magic bolts actually *did*, *looked* and *felt like* appeared, and I once again was filled with admiration.
The characters here were an unusual team for such encounters, and although Kira has demonstrated her deadliness in close quarters combat, it was still three magic users, with Puera being primarily a supportive and healing expert (how much trust it must have taken for her to accept Kira and Henry to stand between her and certain death!), and in the end it'd worked in the story's favor by keeping me worried for the adventurers' ability to withstand the demonic horde even for a moment if the beasties managed to close in on them.
The drawing itself is thoroughly faithful to the descriptions, and like you mentioned, the pillar of light serves brilliantly as the composition's backbone, and the cavernous space of the scene, with the protagonists posing defiantly in the bright center and their teeming foes surrounding them in the shadows. Your and your friend's characters make an impressive matching set of purply winged glowy-stuff-flingers, and Puera's levitating posture is fantastically scenic.
Thank you, as always, for giving the artist a glowing review and a promotion, and for causing this picture into existence in the first place!

I'm so sorry I didn't see this post earlier🥺🥺🥺. thank you so much, it's just adorable! you wrote a whole story and praised me so much, thank you very much,,,
Not a problem!! It’s understandable that you’ve been pretty busy as of lately, so no worries! And sorry that it’s taken me quite a long while to respond to you in that case, haha~ But I’m very glad that you had the opportunity to see it and the accompanying story I wrote for it too, and I’m very pleased beyond words that you enjoyed it! It was a wonderful experience to be able to have this badass, epic piece drawn up, to collaborate with both you and Henry for it, and to have all of our characters featured for it too! And it was an honor to be able to have your Puera in on it, she’s absolutely beautiful and wonderful! The three of them together make for an absolutely fantastic demon-fighting team, for sure! 😁
You’re very much welcome!! Hope us three can do something like this again sometime in the near future, definitely keep up the amazing work and keep on being awesome~ 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜

Battle always gets the blood boiling. Adrenalin of a good, hard won fight. Celebrate in victory. Raise your weapon. Let loose your battle cry.
Can definitely agree there! There's a very rewarding sense of satisfaction after winning a tough fight, especially against odds that feel impossible yet you still manage to pull through and come out on top despite everything. You're bruised, battered, maybe a bit bloody too, but you still won nonetheless.
Speaking of battles, just as a character-related question out of intrigue, but has Hokori done quite a few battles herself in her time? I'd be quite curious to know a bit more about the origins of some of those scars that she has on her.

She has seen quiet a few battles, which is why she knows the value of her potions and the ability to heal those on such dangerous journeys . Before she started selling potions, before MydNyght Brew, before Kira knows her, there was a time when she enjoyed the merc/for hire life. If she had continued, they may have run into each other on different terms. There was an incident as a child, the rest are from her merc life.
