It was a bit cloudy in that particular day. Even if it looked like it would rain soon, the storm didn’t start. So this quite small town was dry in that period. This meant that the weather forecast was wrong once again.
The outskirts of this city were no exception. Houses of various sizes, yet made in similar architectural style consisting mainly of using bright colors, as well as adding wooden elements to it. Scenery was completed with big patches of grass and tall trees that provided a lot of shadow.
Peacock went out of his house. After stretching out a bit, he went to the deckchair that was standing in the frontyard. His attire could betray his plans – white short-sleeved shirt and green pants made him look like he was on vacation. At least some parts of the sun that weren’t covered by clouds were illuminating his purple-blue feathers.
After getting himself on the deckchair, the bird sighed deeply. He closed his eyes and was just lying there in peace. He was happy about this situation, because he knew that vehicles go through his street rarely.
However, his rest was quickly disturbed by notification sound. After grunting a little, man reached to one of his pockets in shorts. He pulled out a phone from it and saw a message that his friend will arrive to his place in several minutes.
After hiding his phone, he started thinking, with his eyes closed. He remembered the words of some of his former classmates that he’s ”clever, but lazy”. This wasn’t entirely true, as he thought, but he had to admit there was a grain of truth in it.
As he was about to delve deeper into his memories from school, he heard a sound of incoming bicycle. He opened his eyes and saw that on red vehicle, his friend was travelling quickly. Short, white rabbit with red eyes literally jumped from the bike, making it fall over awkwardly. Woman dressed in modern yellow jumpsuit briefly checked herself.
”You didn’t have to hurry that much, Ser”, peacock stated, while he crossed his arms on his chest.
”I like a little danger in my life”, rabbit chuckled briefly. ”It’s good to see you, Larn.”
”Good to see you too, Serine”, bird stood up and briefly hugged his friend. ”Here, sit down.”
Peacock pointed at another deckchair. Both of them started lying on the frontyard, looking at the sky.
”Only thing missing is some cider”, Serine said with a smile on her face.
”Yeah, I forgot to buy it.”, Larn replied. ”After you drank most of it.”
”I was stressed, okay?”, rabbit went into sitting position.
”I know. Now lie down.”
Peacock’s friend returned into lying on the deckchair. Both of them returned into looking at the clouds.
”How are you, Ser?”, bird asked, turning his head in her direction.
”Quite decent”, rabbit replied, while still looking at the sky. ”Good that it’s weekend. Some clients can be annoying to work with.”
”Well, you chose to be a psychologist.”
”Yeah. And hearing some jokes about the job...”, Serine paused for a moment and went into sitting position. ”Like ”How can psychologists be depressed? They should just look into their notes.” or something similar.”
”Are you depressed?”, Larn asked with concern in his voice, while standing up from his deckchair.
”Of course not. Still, you can see how annoying it might be.”
”Yeah...”
”And what about you?”, rabbit asked, while standing up from her place.
”The usual, really. Nothing to write books about.”
”So... will you help me?”
”Eh... Come.”
The host guided his guest towards the garage door. After going down a bit, he unlocked the entrance and raised the barrier. After making sure that the neighborhood was as calm as earlier, he closed the door behind the pair.
After lighting up that room, it could be noticed that there wasn’t any kind of vehicle. Better yet, there was no sign of tools used for the repair. Big part of this former garage was occupied by expensive chemical equipment.
”Every time I get here, I’m always impressed”, Serine stated.
”Nothing that unusual, really”, peacock shrugged.
”You sure you want to help me?”
”No. I still need some explanation.”
”Eh...”, woman sighed deeply. ”I told you already. I prefer doing something myself instead of relying on some placebo.”
”So you really want me to do drugs for you...”
”Don’t you want to help others?”
”I just work for money”, Larn replied, while crossing arms on his chest.
”So I have to pay you?”
”Don’t insult me, Ser. I’m not heartless. I’ll help you, but I still don’t like this idea.”
”That’s enough for me”, woman said with smile on her face. ”I can help you a bit. I know a bit about chemistry too.”
”Yeah, you also have your own laboratory”, peacock responed and extended his hand to count on his fingers. ”Grey, soulless room, featuring one-way mirrors, hidden cameras...”
”It’s helpful for researching various psychological cases”, Serine stopped him from counting further.
”It’s an interrogation room. One of the reasons I don’t like this idea.”
”Larn, you can trust me. You know that I want to make this world better. And abysmally slow development of psychology won’t help with that. You can see many problems with the population. Many of them could be solved, if psychology wouldn’t be ignored that much. And I want to change it.”
”Eh...”, host sighed deeply. ”I trust you, Ser. However, I don’t want to have problems because of that.”
”I’ll take all the blame”, rabbit said, while placing a hand on her chest. ”I promise.”
”Okay. I’ll start up the heaters and coolers. Just do everything I say and we’ll be fine.”
The pair went towards the chemical equipment. Peacock briefly explained the rules in his lab to his friend and after making machinery operational, they started their work.

Worst case scenario is them going to jail for that, but will it happen? Who knows...
Well that took an unexpected turn, sounds like they're playing a dangerous and probably unethical game.
Well, I bet antidepressants made in a garage laboratory are more affordable, at least. Lol.
Very nice! It had this interesting mix of sinister and wholesome somehow.

There are many versions of antidepressants, but having a lab (and someone experienced in chems) makes this easier.
And yes, I aimed at feeling ambiguity.
