It was late in the afternoon when suddenly...
"Stop that boy!" A growling voice yelled, disturbing the silence of an otherwise quiet street. This scene was made by two figures, small one belonging to a young hedgehog and another bigger one belonging to an older dog.
"I think it's about time you give up officer!" The young hedgehog exclaimed, brimming with confidence.
Despite the taunts, the old bass-hound was trying his best to reach the speed that the young boy was running in, to heck his failings. Being older in age may have reduced his athleticism quite a bit, but if anything, he would say, his tenacity would be his best secret weapon.
"Don't think *pant* you can run away *pant* forever! *PANT* now come back here!"
Sadly, not every battle can be won with tenacity alone. While the old dog was only entering the street, the hedgehog was already reaching the fence that was stretching wide on the other side. As old and brittle as it was, the hedgehog boy easily leapt over the wooden barrier, showing to the poor old man that, while strength of character may be important, it won't catch you a thief.
The boy kept the speed, despite how it is impossible for the dog to get over the fence now, simply mane the newly propped statue of the mayor of the town, his research of the town's surrounding allowed him to successfully get away scott free! A rather small victory in the long run, but he wouldn't care. That'll teach him not to follow me! Little hedgehog then cackled evilly.
The way out to the forest was pretty barren, but as you go down further, the more bushes it revealed, the easier it became to hide for him if something were to go awry. Fact of the matter, the young hedgehog felt pretty excited over the day as more and more it seem to him how easy it is to get away from these "officers". Lying down next to a cranberry bush, his quills now pulled in as he calmed down, and he looked up at the sky. The vast beyond seems in his reach, and as of now, he could go anywhere.
...Suddenly, something glimmered in the sky, and soon the bush rustled. The boy quickly stood up, his quills were sticking up in alert, as he began checking.
"What the- " As he looked above the bush, an opened small bag was lying down, spilling something from itself what looked like a thin blade. He examined its shine with curiosity, and as he was about to reach it, blue light shone to his face to an almost blinding degree....
...
"...Woah"
This escaped from the boys mouth as he processed just what this shine was. Strangely enough, he found himself lying on the ground, and then started checking the surroundings. He was out in the woods like he was before, except lying on the ground, for no reason than perhaps of fatigue.
Did I really fell asleep here? He looked at the sky again and saw that it was getting dark. Being out here like that would be dangerous.
He stood up and started to make his way along where he believed the end of fence was. Mind still hazy, he finally found the aforementioned entry, and walked in without thinking.
"There you are!"
A rather huge mistake.
The dog grabbed him by the hand before he could react. Struggling to get out, the hedgehog's quills stood up as he started flailing himself to get free.
"Let me go you moron!"
"Help me out here!" The officer barked at the younger rabbit man near him, who then started to reach the boy from behind. "What are you doing, he will spike you!"
The second inexperienced officer stopped, causing the hound to proceed yelling him orders. The rabbit grabbed the bag that hedgehog was carrying mindlessly in his one hand, and immediately put cuffs on him.
"You are now in big trouble, Chester."
The hedgehog, now handcuffed, was forcefully pulled away by the officers.
It's not like tenacity was you biggest weapon, you old geezer, the boy would have thought.

We live in the world of the forgotten and of the broken. Those who are hated are cast away. Those who are inconvenient are hated. Those who wish to be something are inconvenient. Unless, you wish to become someone they want you to be.
Let us begin this tale of sorcery and magic, as group of kids take on the powers of the past to battle against ancient evil. This, is the story, of heroes...
