Health update (bad news)
Posted 5 months agoRemember those health issues I'm been having since last Summer ?
If you don't, I deleted the journals like an imbecil thinking they weren't worth anymore but in short I'm been having visual disturbances and tinnitus that sometimes also caused me head/ear aches.
I've spent this past autumn doing exams over exams and nothing ever came out of any of them, basically all showing I'm "Ok" even tho I'm not, and today I went to yet another appointment with the family doc bringing all the results to been told "You'll have to live with it".
So, yes, whatever it is, there is no cure and might not go away.
Sorry if I might not be as jolly and playful as I used to from now on, maybe things will change in the future but apologies in advance if I won't sound as happy as before.

Good Night, Sweet Prince
Posted 9 months ago4 years ago we lost our first cat, Nikita, last night we lost Pece as well.
We don't even know what happened, not even the vet could figure it out, in the span of two days he went from walking circles meowing for food before dinner time to not being able to even stand.
It's strange because, while it was sad when Nikita left first, I somehow feel worse about Pece, maybe because he used to spend more time with me, sleeping in my bed during summer and on a chair next to mine up until autumn, but I still don't understand why, since I don't feel like I gave him so many attentions, or certainly more than my mother did.
My Granmother used to say it's because I like to stay in my quiet place and he liked quiet places as well, but nevertheless, he did spend a lot of time with me as he did with my mother, knowingly or not, and that makes it more painful for me as well.
Whatever the case, we at least take comfort knowing he had a happy life, first picked up from the streets during a storm when he was a kitten, and raised like a little Prince in the warmth and care of our home.
Good Night, Sweet Prince.
Till we meet again, someday.

Other sites you can find me
Posted a year agoJust a small reminder to all of you that i'm also in a couple of other sites in case something happens with FA:
Weasyl = https://www.weasyl.com/~otakuwolf
Twitter = https://twitter.com/Ota_Kuwolf
Deviant Art = http://otakuwolf.deviantart.com/
I'm wondering if i should open one more gallery but i'm always kinda reluctant on it, first because i think about my Deviantart being kinda dead (nobody really looks at my art and give feedback there or it's an overly long process, plus it allows AI art) and while Weasyl is a nice site it seems like people don't care enough about it (Not many people i know leave comments or feedbacks there either), plus all other furry focused art sites came and went but none stuck around proper... Except inkbunny, but I won't use that one for certain reasons you might already know about ^^;

I am NOT on VR Chat
Posted a year agojust leaving this here since I got a message from somebody who spoke with a "OtakuWolf" on VR Chat: I do not own VR equipment and I do not have a VR Chat account.
The only "metaverse" thing I play is Second Life, and my gaming accounts are on Steam and gog, with my art places being FA, DA, Weasyl, and Twitter.
Furthermore, "Otakuwolf" is not a rare username to find, so just because you see that tag it doesn't mean that's actually me.

Some clarification about fetishes
Posted a year agoHi all ^.^ !
I feel like maybe I need to do some clarification about what I will and will not draw in terms of fetishes and kinks.
Yes, I do like to draw "weird" things such as living suits, and I am fine drawing scenes featuring moderate takeovers and mind control even if I'm not into those myself.
However, while art is up to one interpretation and I have no control over what kind of context or stories people already paired my pictures to, there are also many things I'm definitely not into, and now I feel like somebody may get a wrong idea about what I do draw and what I don't.
To be more specific, there are three fetishes in particular which seem to can be associated with certain works of mine: Transformation, Merging, and Absorption.
I'm sorry to disappoint anyone who wanted to commission me with the impression I would draw such themes, but I am not into those at all and, at least personally, never even think about them when making art for other people.
Furthermore, please don't ask me to draw something for you and then pair it with some subject I'm not into, that's deceptive lieing.
Of course, in case of doubt, you can always ask me beforehand if I will or will not draw certain things, but please try to understand that just because you see some pictures done in a certain way, it doesn't mean the artist is into the same things you or anyone else might associate those with.
That is, unless the artist explicitly says so.
Thank you all for the attention ^^

If you could spend a day with a fictionary character...
Posted 4 years agoLet's say you are given the possibility to spend one day and possibly have an "adventure" with a character or group of characters from a movie/TV show/videogame/comic book/book series/whatever media in existance, who would it be ?
Please, if you want to use my stuff as reference...

I don't bite, i don't shoot anyone in the face, i'm not going to rip your head off if you ask, i am here for this too.
Actually, i appreciate when people do like my stuff to the point of feeling inspired or want to learn from it.
So, if you like something i made and feel like doing/asking someone else for something similar, please, just ask me or at least let me know about it.

Omensight (Small game review)
Posted 7 years agoIf you have played "Stories: the path of destinies", this game is an improved "spiritual successor" of it.
Like Stories, Omensight is a heavily narrative driven game with hack n'slash/RPG style combat and elements of dialogue, with choices aimed to unfold the course of the events that brought the world around you to the current situation and will bring you to the final battle later on.
However, while being very similar there are still some differences between Stories and Omensight.
On a gameplay level Omensight is an improved game as the combat is more polished and has more variety.
On top of a hack and slash button mashing that is easy to understand but hard to master, you also have other abilities at your disposal such as being able to slow down the time, charge insta-kill attacks, dash thorough the enemies, and even different allies each one with different abilities of their own.
On a narrative level, Stories and Omensight are two different kinds: the first being like a series of various tales with the same characters, while the second is a big tale made of smaller ones - each with it's own character.
This gives Omensight a more complex writing, as every character has their own course of events to unfold that will always ends up crossing another ones path creating a "big picture" for you to find out piece by piece.
Talking about defects other than being a bit repetitive, Omensight has only one true FATAL flaw: it has no replayability whatsoever.
Once you finish the game, it just ends, and everything you gathered becomes pointless as there is no "New game +" or anything like that. If you want to play again you start over and lose everything like you never played.
So should you get this game ? As i said in the small review I made for Stories: the path of destinies... if you like narrative driven games - yes, go for it and give it a shot, especially if you liked Stories. Otherwise... don't bother, you would be better off playing an actual hack and slash button masher.
Personally, the moment i installed it i couldn't stop playing it as it kept me hooked wanting to know and see more of the story everytime @.@
Also, despite the effort and work the developers have put into this game, the one big issue of the lack of replayability make me say that you would be better getting this game on discount rather than at it's full price.

Gifts to Otawuffy
Posted 7 years agoIn order to avoid the "Wrong gift" drama, please let me know if you want to gift or send me anything before to do so, i had plenty of people sending me games i already own or making art for me but with subjects i'm not into.
I do keep wishlists on both steam and gog (and i don't "cross-own" the games from one platform to another so just becuase you don't see a game on my Steam library it doesen't mean i might not already own it), and i can tell what art subjects i like and what i don't, but please don't send me stuff at random without letting me know first
I do appreciate people spending time and/or money for me but i really don't feel ok when it's wasted because of the reasons above mentioned.

Stories: The path of destinies (Small game review)
Posted 8 years agoTo begin with i have to say that despite it's repetitive gameplay this game kept me hooked up for hours since i installed it, and not just because is a furry game.
While being a pretty simple hack and slash exploration game, what "Stories: the path of destinies" really shines for is the narrative.
Every single choice you make in the game has a different outcome, and despite it's repetitive nature it's always fun to keep playing and see what your next choice will bring to.
Indeed this game not only has multiple paths but also encourages to always try something different, and I admit: i'm never been the kind of person going back on RPGs i've cleared to "experiment" with the narrative, but with this game i just can't stop playing and eagerly wait to see what my next choice will bring to.
Stories: the path of destinies is not really a game about combat or exploration (indeed as i sayd those two are very simplistic) but rather focuses on the narrative and makes it the true core game mechanic.
If watching the story is like watching a TV show, exploring and slashing the enemies is kinda like keeping yourself entertained while waiting for the next episode, and it's a fun part on it's own as you can't wait to see what's going to happen next while the game keeps you busy with exploration and combat.
If you like intricate narratives with multiple paths and choices or narrative driven games, this is a game you shouldn't miss.
Otherwise, if you're lookig just for some action and exploration, you'd better look somewhere else
Personally, i can't stop playing it @.@
Check it out on gog and Steam
A small "rant" about YCH
Posted 8 years agoDisclaimer:
This small "rant" of mine is not directed thorward anybody in particular and i hope it doesen't sound
offensive to anyone.
Those are my own thoughts on the matter and i hope nobody will take it personal.
If you think i've "crossed a line" and directly offended anyone of you, please let me know and i'll see what i can do.
So... we all know about YCH stuff: you bid in an auction for having your character in some artist project and the
one who pays the highest price wins, simple enough.
Let me start this by saying the concept itself is not bad on it's own as in some cases it can and does make sense like for example for large group pictures with a lot of stuff going on, and big/long term projects like comics that go beyond a certain amount of pages, animations beyond a certain lenght of time, and even images and pictures on rendered environments like games or dioramas (also if the characters themselves have some kind of rendering as well).
Even "Fixed price YCH" are good although those are more of a lottery or a FCFS (First Come First Served) kind of commission.
However the problem with the thing is that for a good 95% (being kind there) of the times we see this kind of policy applied to even the simplest and bland things like characters "sitting there for the camera doing nothing". Maybe i have a certain regard thorward money because, as you know, i'm a broken artist coming from a poor family always (or at least most of the times) very careful on how i spend it, but is it really worth to spend a lot of money for actually very simple and bland things that any artist can do with the same quality for a smaller fixed price ?
A couple of days ago i even happened to stumble onto a YCH portrait... How can anybody put on auction a portrait ?
I know it's not up to me to tell people how to spend money but what's the point on bidding for something so simple and artistically rudimental like a portrait ? It was a well done portrait for sure but i know about several artists that would have made the same exact thing with the same quality for lesser and without a "YCH" tag plastered on it.
Another problem of the YCH auctions is that in about 90% of the cases you're not even sold an "idea" or a "concept" of a picture but a "finished product", which means the picture is already finished and you are not even up to decide how the thing will look like (Except for some minor details IF possible).
Imagine you're going to the bakery to buy a choccolate cake and the shopper tells you "Nope ! Sorry, the baker today only made a strawberry cake that is up for bidding, and if you win you can choose the decorations"... what would your reaction be ? Personally i would change bakery.
Now, I'm not saying that people should not support theyr favourite artists the way they want (it would be hypocrit from me to), however there is also a line between supporting somebody and let that somebody take advantage of your goodwill.
It's a great thing to support your favourite artists with commissions and donations, i actually encourage it too (and i also do it myself when i can), but at same time the artists themselves shouldn't try to take advantage of the audience by putting up auctions for pictures anyone else made (or even still make) as "normal" commissions for a more fair price.
For how i see it, the vast majority of YCH auctions right now are as much harmful as preorders, microtransactions, and season passes in 60$ videogames. YCH auctions add nothing special to pictures you would get for the same price (Becuase let's face it: except for "big" stuff, when do those YCH pictures offer more than non YCH ones ?) and instead take away (Because is not even up to you to decide about the picture) and for an higher price too.
I'd like those YCH buyers to do one very simple thing next time they spot one: Look at the artist gallery and see if it did this kind of stuff before as "normal" commission, or even ANY other artist of the same level of skill (or with a similar style) did itand see if they do that kind of stuff as normal commission, and then ask themselves "Is it really worth to bid on something anybody else can make me for a fixed price ?"
They would be surprised how most of the times the answer is "no, it isn't !"
People should be more careful when trying to get a YCH, the Artists should (earn) and be supported with commissions and donations but people shouldn't buy into YCH if it's something they can get for a true and more fair price.
And those artists too... I don't mean to mean to offend anyone (i apologize if i do) but they should stop with this "YCH here and YCH there" as well because this way they are literally treating the audience like a bunch of dummies eager to buy anything just because there's theyr name on it or because it's in a certain style. If really they care about people following theyr art and giving feedback they shouldn't try to take advantage of others goodwill and respect like that.

Otakuwolf Terms Of Service
Posted 8 years agoSomebody made me notice i don't have a proper Tos page as i usually explain my commission terms when somebody contacts me for some art, so maybe i should write down a few guidelines as reference for anyone to see when coming to my page ^.^
1) Are you open for commissions ? How do i get a commission from you ?
To check if i'm open for commissions you have to keep an eye on my journals, if there's one titled "Open for commissions" or something similar then you can ask for a slot in the series and i'll contact you back via-note once confirmed.
Please don't ask me for a commission if you don't see the "Open for commissions" journal.
Keep in mind that i prefer to work on a limited number of commissions in every lap so please, don't take it personal if i won't add you to the list in that moment because you might still be added in a later series.
2) What can i ask you to draw ?
What I can draw:
- Any kind of anthro or feral species, keep in mind that canines and felines are my best while avians are my worst
- Any kind of non-fetish vanilla scene, keep in mind that sci-fi and mecha are my best while history settings are my worst
- Fetish wise, only rubberwear and bondage related. I might draw rubber symbiotes depending on the kind.
- Violent content might be ok depending on the violence grade (for example i'm fine drawing combat scenes)
- Vanilla sex scenes are ok depending on the kind (no pregnancy or inner shots) even if i don't have much experience on those
What I won't draw:
- Any kind of copyrighted fictionary character (like for example those from movies, videogames, TV shows, etc.)
- Any kind of fetish that is not STRICTLY about rubberwear or bondage (so things like "transformation" or "merging/absorption" are a no-no)
- Any kind of gross/messy/extremely violent image (like for example toiletplay, torture, etc.)
- Hardcore sex scenes (like for example those involving exagerate amouts of fluids, big genitalia, etc.)
3) How do you work ?
- Before i start your commission make sure you can be contacted anytime because i'll be sending images of the work in progress and i'll need to know from you if i'm doing it right or not and if you have any preferences for it
- I usually finish to ink a sketch after 24 hours i recived the final approval for it, so make sure it has everything in place before to confirm it because there won't be any turning back after that point
- Once the picture has been inked, colored, and shaded, i'll send you a preview image for final approval, and unless it needs some changes to the colorscheme you'll send me the payment, and once i'll recive the payment i'll send you the original picture and post it on my FA, Weasyl, and Deviantart (depending on the content).
4) How much do your works cost ?
This is a temporaneal clause until i manage to make a proper commission reference sheet but consider that single character pictures range from 50 to 75 USD depending on complexity, every extra character price will range from 85 to 100 USD, and mechanical designs will range from 100 to 150 USD.
The mechanical design prices do not apply if the character itself is wearing or is a mecha himself (so armors and stuff like that do not count as mechanical design but as characters).
A price review can be found on the "commission info" tab of my FA page
I DO NOT TAKE NFT AS PAYMENT.
This should go without saying but I'll leave it here just in case.
5) I don't have enough money to can afford a picture from you, are there any other ways I can pay ?
Yes , I also accept physical and virtual goodies for as long as their value matches the commission price.
Also, if you are an artist yourself we can do a trade instead, but the number of those for each commission round will depend on the other "offers".
6) Can I repost ?
The picture is for you so OF COURSE you can.
Just please remember to give the proper credit if you do it AND wait for me to post it first.
7) Can I resell/use for commercial purpouses ?
Explicitly no, unless a mutual agreement with me is achieved beforehand.
In case of a sale/commercial use that goes without said agreement, I do keep the right to profit off the artwork beyond the commission itself.
8) Can i commission you a picture for somebody else ?
Yes you can, but i won't take any responsability if the other person doesen't like it or is not ok with it.
Please be sure to have the proper authorization from the other person before i do any work of this kind or somewhat know the likes and dislikes if you're planning a gift (at least enough to don't have me make something wrong).
9) Any last things i need to know ?
For traprunners commissions please check ->>HERE<<-
Cosplays and costumes do not count as "Copyrighted characters" for as long as the cosplayer can be identified and is not a copyrighted character from a TV show, movie, etc.
Pokemon, Digimon, and fictionary copyrighted species do SOMEWHAT count as copyrighted characters, so while I can draw them, I also cannot take a monetary payment for those.
Speaking of, as alternative to monetary payment, in some cases I can also accept physical or virtual items too, as long as the value corresponds to the monetary cost of the commission.
About mechanical designs: those are a particular kind of art that may require a lot of time and tinkering so a preventive agreement on the payment methods (and quantity) is required for any commission involving some kind of intricate machinery (like veicles).
I can also accept short comic commissions, but while i accept some good pratice on this kind of art working on ideas from others you should also keep in mind that it can be a very time consuming thing and i don't have much experience on those so we might have to communicate a lot during the process.
About the payment for those, consider the "Mechanical designs" point above.
IMPORTANT:
You must be at least 18 years old to commission "mature" or "adult" content.
If your commission includes "adult" content material then you are automatically declaring to be at least 18 years old and i won't take any responsibility if it turns out you're not.
DO NOT link me whole stories as references, it makes it difficult for me to understand what i'm supposed to draw.
If you want me to draw something based on a story, please describe the scene I have to draw (who are the characters, How they look, what they are doing, and the environment around them) because i just can't read thorough a wall of text only to find the one paragraph i need.
I hope i won't ever have to do use this last clause you're about to read, but after i noticed that some other artists friends of mine had to deal with not so nice commissioners, as a preventive measure I reserve myself the right to not accept or even interrupt/cut out a commission before completition for any reason.
These are my Terms Of service for commissions, i hope it will be enough and you won't find it somehow problematic.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below ^.^

That little voice within
Posted 8 years agoNot many of you know about this but i'm a bit of a rager in games, maybe i don't break things and physically threaten peoplewhen i die in a game, but i tend to yell and do nothing but complain a lot when matches go particularly wrong or in some particularly difficult stages sections, in some cases even to the point of trowing personal insults.
A couple of weeks ago i had a talk with a fur i met during a match and befriended right after, and after checking my gallery he was "surprised that a person drawing such arts could have certain reactions", and Indeed i find it surprising too, but a few days ago i thought about it and had some deep self-examination to understand why i do that and what's wrong between me and these "reactions" i have, and after remembering the words of my Kung-fu master in the past ("You are too much self-punishing"), i belive to now understand...
i don't know how to explan it in english words (would be hard to explain it in italian too) but let me try:
In most of my everyday tasks, and most in particular when i play games (both on my own and online) i feel like inside of me there's a voice that keeps insulting and mocking me at every failure, and even if i succeed i feel like that same voice tells me i still haven't done good enough.
This thing gets even worse in multiplayer games because even if it's just paranoia, when i find players way better than me i feel like they are laughing at my back everytime i die by theyr hand.
And it actually gets even worse when some players start "opening theyr mouth" prancing and mocking because it almost feels like the little voice becomes real.
Sadly this can also happen with my arts, that's why i'm always spending so much time on pictures, being obsessed about making those look perfect, and have zero tolerance for my own smallest mistakes, and going nuts if something looks wrong and i don't know how to fix it.
i think this is a problem that comes from personal experiences i had in the past, i won't get into the details but i was pretty much the "little kid everyone makes fun of" and my parents didn't make it any better with some of theyr "expectations", and this somehow seems to have left my mind scarred and traumatized in a way that seems to afflict my performance on every field.
It might be a source of improval to push myself to the limits everytime, but it's not good to try to have fun and still feel like there's somebody or something behind you laughing at every F-up and say "That's nothing, there's people who can do way better" at every success.
Basically, doesen't matter what i try to do, i almost always somehow feel like shit UNLESS i'm doing too good to actually even think about anything at all.
somebody told me to ignore that voice... well, i want to and i try to at least get used to it to the point it doesen't hurt anymore, but is the "Easy sayd than done" kind of thing, it's kinda like a scar on your chest: you can ignore it and cover it with a shirt but no matter how long you stay dressed up, sometime you have to unavoidably take off your clothes and look at it, and it's somehow always there.
I'm not sure if journals are a good way to vent and talk about personal issues, i'm not trying to make excuses for how i sometimes behave when playing games, just wanting people to know that i don't do certain things for mere disappointment or anger, but at least i found out why i do it, i'm sorry about it, and i'll work on this aspect to get better.

F-List
Posted 9 years agoSomebody suggested me to link my F-list for a better reference about my kinks so here you go:
https://www.f-list.net/c/ota%20kuwolf/
Again, I will NEVER approve fetish works including my characters in any content that is against the list in the link so if you see, know, or plan to make something like that involving my own characters... be advised: i do not approve it.
If you want to make some fetish work for me but you're not sure about it ASK first before to make something i might not like, better spoil the surprise but have a "sure shot" than going wild and make a mess.
I hope this clarifies my "tastes".
And again, if you have any doubts i'm open for questions.
